The match against Murray pretty much sums up what Nadals got left....Nada.....Fed may cry like a baby when he get whipped but at least he plays it out.....rather then quitting in the 3rd......

Maybe all these injuries and loss of muscle mass has something to do with Nadal's special training on Fantasy Island with uncle Tony....He better go back to his juice master jr....

True words from a true man. Rafa Nada is just a pathetic loser. Everytime he loses miraculously his knee starts to act up or its acting up while he's in the midst of being down 2sets to love. A little curious huh? How come his knee never acts up when he's winning in a match? If he were up 2 sets to love on Murray you can bet the house and wife and kids that he wouldn'tn have had any "knee"problems last night. Absolutely pathetic. Play it out, your getting smoked like a little ***** and you better learn how to take it. Don't ***** out and just blame it on the knee. Fed played a good year and a half through mono and never complained and never quit a match because "his mono was flaring up".

you are all so pathetic I'm sorry if your down 2 sets to love and 3 games to love in the third in the first major tournament of the year please explain to me why risk making the injury worse??

Look at what happened in rotterdam last year nadal was injured stuck it out which prolly made the injury worse and then missed a huge chunk of the season cause of it.

If anything Nadal was smart for pulling out why risk the rest of his season for three more games? He knew he was going to lose and do you really think Murray is upset about the fact that he retired? Not at all hes in the semis at australia for the first time he doesnt care.

It's funny, Pmac stated during the match before he started tanking that "Nadal is fitter than he was all last year" and Nadal himself was on Espn saying he was healthy then all of a sudden at 2 sets down and 3-0 he's injured and has to retire. Surely you jest!

The guy quit because he couldn't handle taking a loss. Roddick on the other hand stood like a man and played through in 5 sets. I guess that is what separates the girls from the men.

And there'll also be new players for them to hate as well, whoever succeeds Federer and Nadal as the top players. No doubt these new players will be ridiculed by trolls for not living up to the insane standard that Federer and Nadal have set.

What a shame!!!!
This match was so electricfying, could possibly have been the match of the tournament, make that one of the best ever! The only other times I felt like this for a match were when Federer vs Safin SF AO 05', and Sampras vs Agassi QF USO 01'.... these matches were of the highest order!
I really really hope Nadal sticks around for more years, cause if he's MIA, well tennis just won't be the same.

nevermind the possibility that a bad knee could be the REASON murray was up so much...ill let someone else post a 'roll eyes' icon because the OP deserves one. fed fan boys still cry when nadal has his number and gloat when he's gone and fed has a free ride through another slam final.

Nadal has 6 majors at the age of 23 and there's many more to come.

Exactly how many 'free rides to a slam final' has Federer had because Nadal has lost early? I'd be thinking none, unless... maybe the first french Nadal won? So one out of... 25, 30? Hmmm.

Nadal has fed's number? The only, only reason the head-to-head between fed and nadal is lopsided is that Nadal is not good enough to make it to enough hard-court matches to be beaten by Federer!
