Start with a good stiff string
Pre-Stretch it
Crank the Tension up over 60 plus
Expect it not to last very long
Monitor you arms

I'm going through this same debate right now also. I LOVE Lux 4G 16, but don't like the price and feel like it have enough spin, even in my Burn 100S.

I'd also add to your list:
- Solinco Tour Bite 16 (I liked the 16L better than 16 which I liked better than the 15L, but this may be personal preference)
- Volkl V-Pro 16
- Kirshbaum Max Power 16
- Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour (Doesn't have a high stiffness rating, but the dead "Swing as big as you want" feel)
- Tecnifibre Black Code 4S 16
- Tecnifibre Black Code 16
- Tier One Black Knight 16

The stiffest and deadest I've played with was:

WeissCannon Blue Rock N Power.

So stiff... So dead..... So awful! I think the string had rigor mortis.... That's the level of dead and stiff I'm talking about.

Thanks. I may try some of that list. I actually have some black code i can try and maybe the volk. Have to check. I have my poly labeled by stiffness and iirc the volkl i i have is towards the back ao its softer

What is more dead than Kevlar at 86 lbs???

is it still 4g??

I know exactly what you need because I used it for years in the early 2000s. Babolat Polymono 16, I think its also called Duralast.

Not sure if they make it anymore but it literally doesn't get deader than this. There is zero life in it.

If its too lively for you then you need to switch to a wood racquet :)

Lol exactly.

Anyway this is the exact stuff. Deader than Kevlar strung at 82 and left in the trunk of a car for a Minnesota winter.

I think they also use it for weed wackers and law enforcement wrist restraints haha.

I did that kevlar string on a Prince racquet when I started playing, trying to get more durability, but what I got was tennis elbow in a week.

Probably posting from the court between sets.

As others have mentioned material and tension are huge factors in creating a “dead” stringbed.

2 other factors to consider is gauge and string pattern or racquet. Choose the thickest gauge. Dense string pattern (18x20) is going to deaden the racquet.

Not surprised and i am betting it was syngut crosses. Long story but these days a smooth cross like poly is more arm friendly than a locked bed like kev/syngut

Man i wish there were 18/20 patterns with a 75+ ra but havent seen any. The gamma rzr 100t is pretty dense but no 18/20

Hey Shroud... Can you get the Topspin rackets over there?... The older CL 633 or now the Pure C1 models are 98 heads, thin beam (20 mm... I think) but somehow still have a 70 or so stiffness rating.... Oh, and they're 18x20. Not quite 75+ but with the 18x20 it's a really firm and controlled response. Pretty unique beasts with the thin beam but higher stiffness.

Changed my mind, it's gotta be Kirschbaum Max Power 16. Played with some last night, my elbow will never be the same. Played darn well with it too, but never touching that stuff again..

Cool. I havent seen them here, and TW doesnt have them

I am happy with my Gamma RZR 100T. Its a dense pattern 100” and 75 Ra. Wish it was black. Damn marketers.

Sorry about the elbow. Is it because its cold?

Nope it's still quite nice down here in Texas. Performance was great, but it felt like I was playing with a plank of wood. My elbow isn't really dead, but stringbed was definitely not comfortable by any stretch of imagination.

Sounds like a string i need to look at. Though i swear my buddy uses that string and i sont think he like playing with a board.
