Stiffness of junior racquets?

DeepBlue

I'm in the market for a junior frame and I've narrowed my search down to four frames:

Wilson KBlade Junior (98)
Prince Exo3 Rebel Junior (95)
Dunlop Aerogen 200 Junior (95)
Volkl Power Bridge 10 Junior (98)

The only information I was not able to find is what the stiffness of these frames is so I'd appreciate any info someone might have.

Are junior racquets generally more or less flexible?

TW used to give the rdc on all of its junior frames up until last year. its a shame that they dont test them anymore.. Really is..
I have quite a few models of junior racquets.
1. volk quantum 10 pro
length 26
rdc 41
2. prince rebel 95
length 26
rdc 53
3. prince graphite EXO
length 26.5
rdc 52
4. kneissl red star
length 26
rdc 46

generally speaking when manufactures make junior rackets they will use the same mold as the "adult" length racket. but will put more fiberglass or composites in the frame and not as much graphite, this makes the racket much more affordable for the younger set.
Hope this helps!:)

Thanks a lot for the reply. I thought that junior frames might be far more flexible than their adult versions, but needed a confirmation. BTW, TW has the data on KBlade Junior, its rated 52 for flexibility. It really is a shame that it's so hard to find those stiffness ratings for junior frames. I hope any of these would give me the buttery feel I'm looking for.

your so welcome deepblue...yeah i have been playin with 26 inch racquets for 7 years now...all different makes and models...i always go for the more serious lines of models ie(Kblade) and pick the longest junior racquet that they provide for the say, kblade...i have had alot of success doing this and have had others play with my racquets and love them and get ones for themselves.... You have to be one that enjoys hitting with a ton of pace and i mean a ton...and enjoy the buttery feel of the racket flexing in an unreal way....
back in the day Volkl made the highest quality jr frames..i had
(6) C10 jr 26 inchers and loved them....
its also fun to play with the weight...add lead tape...silicon the handle..its so easy to make modifications because the stock weight strung is so lite...
let me know how yer journey goes!:)

Hey, why did you decide to try 26", and why have you stuck with this length? Also, are you smaller of stature? I'm playing with 26.5" now and like it, so I"m just curious about your experience at an even shorter length.

Sorry for digging the topic up, but I've been on vacation...

For me personally, the only reason why I want to try a junior frame is because some 2-3 years ago I played shortly with a junior Volkl frame and it gave me unbelievable buttery feel. I could place my shots where I wanted, the serve was much better and in general, my game was on a whole different level. Since then, I've tried the FXP prestige mid 93 and PST Limited 95, but neither have me the feel I was looking for. Browsing through all the specs, I came to the conclusion that it must be down to the stiffness, of lack of it, in junior frames and the fact that they are shorter and therefore more maneuverable for me.

I still have not decided which one to buy, but I'm closest to choosing the Volkl PB 10 Junior. It's just a tad shorter than the adult version (26.8in vs. 27in), but hopefully far less stiff than the adult version. It's 16x19 string bed and a 98in head size. My second choice would be the Prince Rebel Junior, but my main concern with that frame is that it's a 95in head and it might be a little underpowered. Dunno

sorry that it took me so long to get back to this topic... i just demoed the volkl powerbridge 10 jr and it hit great!!! It felt very much like my flexy C10 volkl 26 inch....the flex in the demo was probably high 40's low low low 50;s...the prince rebel jr and the price exp graphite felt dead and stiff in comparison ..:) CORNERS. the reason i play with these as they are lightand very flexible...i used to get my junior rackets extended (alpha Sports) to a standard 27 length..but after some years one inch really didnt hurt me at all..I like to hit a big ball and to enjoy the jr sticks you really must hit out on everything..they aint for everybody thats for sure..some people think that i am some super natural wunder kid, because i can generate so much pace with them, but if you get used to the underpowered flex you can put a thumpin on the ball and never hit it out...well almost never!:)HAIL HAIL 26 junie frames!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
