I currently play with a Wilson Hyper Prostaff 5.0 midplus racket. I have a strong serve and try and play a control game...I like a fairly stiff feeling racket but with control. I just tried these rackets:

Prince Original Graphite 93 sq inch: It was alright, but it didn't feel real stable and not as solid as I wanted.

Volkl Tour 10 Mid V-Engine:
Didn't like the feel. I felt like I had to work too hard with this racket. Felt light.

Head Liquidmetal Prestige Mid: Worst of the bunch. The swingweight felt too heavy.

Prince Tour Diablo Mid: I really loved this racket. My serve and volleys were hard and precise and the groundstrokes felt great. Really impressed.

So should I stop here, or do you think I should try any of the following:
  1. Slazenger Pro X1
  2. Wilson HPS 6.1
  3. Wilson ncode 6.1 18x20....The 16x18 racket I tried I couldn't control it...too powerful
  4. Pro Kennex Heritage or Core1, No. 6

Thanks a lot for the advice.

Personally speaking, the Prince Tour Diablo Mid was better than the Prince Original Graphite; it improves on it in most ways. You should give a crack at some of the nCode 6.1s, Wilson ProStaff 6.0 95, Slazenger...

Try to explain your game a little more; level and things like that.

More about my game.

I am a 4.6 level player who is trying to reach the next level in my game. I am essentially a baseliner who comes into net when my chances are good. I run down every ball and my serve is one of my best weapons. I play a semiwestern forehand with pretty good spin and a two handed backhand that is a bit flatter. I also have a high spin one handed backhand that I like to use as an approach shot or a service return.

I am 30 years old and in pretty good shape with no elbow problems, although I'd like to do everything I can with my equipment to prevent any injuries.

if you like stiff, try the HPS 6.1 or the nCodes for wilsons. I don't think Slaz X1 would do it for you because it feels pretty soft.

Why are you looking for a new racquet... I think the hps 5.0 is a pretty good racquet and I used to use the stretch but it was cheaper for me to get 2 used POGs than another 5.0.

How about the ProStaff Classic 6.1. It is a pretty stiff racquet but wonderful control and a few players at our club with a style similar to yours use it quite successfully.

Thanks a lot for the advice

I tried the POG mid and I also tried the Prince Tour Diablo. I actually really love the Tour Diablo. I'm going to buy one.
