I don’t know about you, but I’m stock pilling on Nike CourtBallistecs 4.3- the best overall shoe for me!
Besides, it's my bday
You know what they say, don’t mess with your shoe?
Especially after suffering a minor injury (pains in the balls of my left foot, metatarsalgia) in Aisics GR5 (after a few weeks of practice, it happened during the first ladder match indoor and I’ve been hoblled for 2.5 months, on and off, afterwards, until I went back to the Nike air Courtbalilistecs 4.3?). And I almost rolled an ankle in those fast, but high Asiscs GR5….
Granted I’m overweight, 220-230 LBs at 6’2” (former power forward in basketball – I look like Tsonga) and I try to move aggressively on the baseline, playing only singles 6-7 days a week, two hours at a time in average….I am probably, by far the heaviest, highest ranked guy on the ladder/house league at our club. Come to think about it, only the lowest ladders have the same heavy guys…
Barricades 5 and 8 are too clunky (although I just bought a brand new pair of B8 for clay and own another practically new pair of BV).
The new Nike Lunar Ballistec are ridiculously expensive ($165), plus they don’t have the air cushion anymore? I hear even Rafa resorts to CB 4.3 in matches, only uses the Lunar ballistecs in practice??!!!
Nike Vapors don’t last me more than a month, support wise + they don’t have sole warranty.
Lotto Raptors would be the next one on my list to try, but after the Asiscs GR5 experience maybe I should wait until I lose (IF that happens) some weight, before changing shoes on hard court.
So long story short, although I still own an unused pair of CB 4.3 + two more used one but with the sole intact (one used on clay- to which I had to sew back the shoe laces and another used a bit on hard court, that I’m switching today to), I went ahead and bought 3 more pairs right now from ******* sport, size 10.5, the nice "Tron" light blue color with Rafa’s name and logo on them for about $80 each, after a 10% coupon…
Especially after slipping last night when coming to the net and almost falling, in my less then two months old orange CBs 4.3 (The sole is gone to the sides of both shoes, mainly the outside right one).
Unfortunatelly TW has apparently run out of them so here is what I could find in other places:
Blue:$80 at m i d w e s t s p o r t sports with coupon CLEARANCE102413 (free shipping in US about $20 in Canada –where the exchange rate is bad atm .87)
