at this moment, I'm not actually sure. I only saw the last few games of the match. His new coach was there, but then that coach was also with him when he got beaten by Fena Gonzalez in Shanghai.

He was maybe more comfortable when he won the title on clay at Gstaad, but he did look very good against PimPim. I didnt see what happened when he went up the break on JJ, but I am looking forward to his match against Olivier Rochus, who so far has beaten Vinciguerra, Feli Lopez and Jarkko Nieminen!

How awesome would it be if Bellucci could pick up another title here?

It's not likely as he has a tough opponent in Rochus and then would, most likely, have to beat Soderling in the final, but stranger things have happened and this would do wonders to Bellucci's chances in the early 2010 HC season to rack up serious points so he could be seeded before the 2010 clay season.

I havent seen Rochus play here yet, but for whatever reason (?blind faith?), I'm thinking Bellucci can beat him .......... However, I dont have a lot of faith that he could beat Soderling if they were to meet in the final! :(

Rochus wins the first set tiebreaker 7-4, minibreaking Bellucci twice and holding all his own serves. It seems the longer the rallies went, the more chance Rochus had of winning the points.

bellucci breaks to begin the second set, mostly because of cutting down the UEs

thomaz is still up a break, but his net game has been letting him down, whereas olivier's net game has been sparkling. he holds 1-2

okay. well, i'm falling asleep, just got awakened by an unusual (for him today) giant shout by rochus going up a double break in the third.

they broke each other in the first. rochus was unable to break back in the second, so bellucci won it 6-4, but then I missed how it was that rochus went up the early break in the third ... and he just did it again 4 love.

I doubt that Bellucci w/b able to come back from this deficit, tho I wish he could, however, if he does, I'll have to find out about it after I wake up!:D

sorry to hear robin had to withdraw, that can't be an easy one to take when it's his country's tourney.

im happy that baghdatis is on the right track, should he win this would be a great and much needed boost for his campaign back into the thick of things.

Swedish TV is broadcasting SF:s and DF:s live also on the internet ("SVT play"). Hopefully (?) also with international access: http://svtplay.se/ (click "livesändningar")...

DF:s start at 13, SF:s not before 15 (local time)...

I watch through the swedish streamer.Excellent quality and it doesn't lag.Plus the commentators aren't very irritating.:)

baggy is such a great player to watch! I wish him all the best in the future and hope he stays healthy so we can enjoy his game

before the final,he was going to no.49 from no.66,so a little better than this after the final.

In the top 50,that's all I wanted for him in this year.Hope he can finish inside it though.
He said his goal for next year is to be more consistent.:)

I'm very happy for Ollie as well.He had a bad year too and his ranking was very low but now he seems to be back.His gf is swedish??lol
 
He mentioned his mother like 5 times,typical mama's boy :rolleyes: :mrgreen: and said sorry to his team for being a pain in the *** lol.That trophy was huge,I was afraid he was going to drop it.:)

well right now in Thessally but I'm from the Aegean and Crete.:) I have never been to Cyprus though.I hear it's incredibly expensive for vacation..

it's not that bad, a little pricier than the rest of europe but worth every penny=) greece seems nice to, love the countries near the mediterranian, sucks to live here with the cold and the snow.

after being ranked ~150 in july, he's ranked 41 now... let's hope this good trend goes on !
that would be good to be seeded for the AO, but i read he's only scheduled to play one more challenger in south korea this year...

After the way ollie played against thomaz, I am a tad surprised to see he got breadsticked in the first ...... marcos must have been playing great! :D

" . . . Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis lifted his first ATP World Tour title since February 2007, after defeating Olivier Rochus of Belgium 6-1, 7-5 at the If Stockholm Open on Sunday.

Baghdatis became the 10th unseeded winner of the ATP World Tour this year and the first since Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil won at the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad on 2 August.

World No. 66 Baghdatis earned €93,000 in prize money and won 250 South African Airways 2009 ATP Ranking points, while Rochus pocketed €49,000 and 150 points.

"I played really well in the first set," said Baghdatis. "It was important to get a good start, but then in the second set Olivier stepped it up. I was a bit lucky to win in two sets in the end. I wanted to win this so badly. It was my chance to win another title and I managed to find the solution to win."

Baghdatis, who won his third ATP Challenger Tour title last week at Tashkent (d. Istomin), made a confident start in his seventh ATP World Tour final.

The 24 year old converted his third break point opportunity in the fourth game and his decisively broke in the sixth game. He won 66 per cent of service points and hit eight aces in the 40-minute first set.

The pair exchanged service breaks at the start of the second set and again in the sixth and seventh games. Baghdatis . . . went on to wrap up the victory in one hour and 39 minutes.

Baghdatis won 62 per cent of service points, hit 15 aces and saved four of six break points. It was his third ATP World Tour trophy (3-4 lifetime) and first since 4 February 2007 at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors.

"It's been a long time since I won an ATP tournament," admitted Baghdatis. "The last one was in Febuary 2007. I'm so happy right now. It's been a tough couple of years and this title came when I least expected it, so it's even better.

"I'll work hard in the off-season so I can start the year strong next year and try and be more consistant and play a full year. It's been a tough last two weeks for me - I've played 10 matches and won all all of them so of course I am a bit tired now. I'm going to rest for a few days before playing my last tournament, a Challenger in South Korea." . . .

off topic-malakas I'm sure you answered this somewhere on the board but how far are you from Skiathos? Have you ever been there? My aunt lives there part-time
