Look at these shoulders! Man, is she looking totally ripped. I bet it's the protein shakes and doing a ton of sets!

I saw her in San Diego a couple of years ago for both practice and match play. Her arms are well defined, but she's pretty normal sized. They don't look huge in person. Her forehand is scarier live than on tv. I think the sleeveless skirt makes the arms stand out more.
Although she's listed at 5'9" she really closer to 5'8". I measured my wife and Sam isn't quite as tall. I stood next to her while she was watching another match.

I'm not sure diminutive is quite right. I stood maybe 3 feet away and she was pretty tall compared to the average woman. I would say Sara Errani is diminutive but this is all subjective. You're entitled to your view.

There seem to be several fairly short players on the WTA doing great, but Stosur gets around the court pretty well. I agree get it in as to Stosur. I wouldn't call Stosur short. Hopefully she gets past those later stages at some majors. Stosur has a solid overall game.

Borg_number_one: True. Her game is solid overall. She is, after all, a grand slam champion. The Australian Open just seems to be unkind to her. She happened to have hit an in-form Ivanovic. It was a great match to watch.

Holy crap those shoulders and arms would put most of us TT members to shame.

No joke and if you are more ripped prove it

She should learn to flatten out her FH on the right occasions. Taller players who hit tend to flat, like Ivanovic get lots of them right in their wheelhouse.

Absolutely. I hope she does well at her "home slam"! I agree that perhaps some more flat shots and overall speed would help her. Sometimes that extra strength does have some diminishing returns for tennis players. She's fit no doubt, but so are many players that are not as "jacked".

Stosur was more normal looking in her early years on the tour. Her body has changed with her commitment to training and gym work. Though I don't have any photos to prove it.

I'm ripped at 6% body fat and I haven't taken anything. Just eating clean, very limited alcohol, lift heavy weights with a lot of compound lifts and tennis and basketball for my cardio did it for me.

People seem to think having an athletic, ripped and muscular body is somehow a black art and unachievable without drugs. You just do the basics and work hard.

I find this kind of allegation to be pure speculation. Every time a player male or female is muscular they must be taking something. Sorry but if it was that easy to prove then they would all be banned by now.

Your smoking something tommy. Protein shakes and hard work aren't illegal. "If it was easy to prove they would all be banned by now" suggests that they're all doing something but haven't been caught . No maybe they're just all 100% clean, with the exception of Wayne Odesnik and a few other perennial low rankers.

^^ Lol. I don't think so. Federer, Djokovic, Del Potro and Berdych certainly don't look like that when setting up for a forehand. Michael Russell actually does weight lifting as part of his training. I'm not saying he is a bodybuilder "jacked", just tennis player "jacked"

I always think the super muscular body shape is not the the best tennis body type-too much dead weights slow down your movement and reflex. A strong core with flexi limbs are more ideal.

Looking at Stosur and Williams standing next to each other makes me wonder if they are truly policing their drug policy.

Thats odd to say the least. Two women bigger than MOST men players. Women shouldn't be bigger than Men.. Get the hell outta here

Hell they make Nadal look small. And Ive stood next to Nadal in flushing meadows.. Hes a pretty big dude

Being ripped with defined muscles does not always equate to being stronger than a comparatively sized player. Some people's genes are just like that. We all knew someone who was naturally muscular growing up yet they did not lift or work out much.

Love the striated deltoids of Sam Stosur, perfetto!

Serena's just massive with decent definition and lotsa water retention.;)

No , you misunderstood my point. Or maybe I didnt put it well enough. What I meant was if it was easy to prove all the cheats would all be banned by now. By "they " I meant the cheats not every player.

Your post is worthless without pics.
