Strange distribution of Tsitsipas' titles

First of all, congratulations for Stefanos and his fans for defending his Montecarlo title.
Second, I have been looking at the distribution of Stef's titles on every surface (clay, outdoor hard, indoor hard, grass), and I've noted this very strange distribution
-Clay: 4-5 in finals (2 Montecarlos, Estoril and Lyon)
-Outdoor hard: 0-5 in finals
-Indoor hard: 4-1 in finals (1 Masters, 2 Montpellier and Stockholm)

Considering Tsitsipas is considered better on clay; strangely he hasn't won any outdoor hard title, but won 4 on indoor hard, including the Masters...

Discuss.

I find the split the funny thing. He's literally one of the best players in the world through the first half of the year, and barely a top ten level guy after that. I think the split is something like 6-2 in titles. Tells you how much of a mental midget Thiem is that he let Tsitsipas win a title after Roland Garros.

Zverev is also clearly better on clay *and* indoor hardcourt than he is on outdoor HC (to say nothing of le grass, of course). There must be some logic to it. Maybe their servebot pushing aptitude is that? "Pushing" suits clay while botting suits indoor courts.

Might make sense for Zverev, but I don't consider Tsitsi a pusher. Definitely a strange distribution.

It’s a myth that Stefanos is not good on HC. He’s very good on HCs as well. His 2019 and early 2020 HC form was scary good. He has all the tools. But suffers from a crisis of confidence. Last year’s RG final torpedoed his confidence and HC is also not the best surface when dealing with injuries. This is not to say clay is not his most naturally suited surface. It most certainly is his best surface and will probably continue to be as well. But he’s a fine HC player as well when he’s feeling confident and physically fit.

And he won the Madrid Masters twice, which isn't a normal clay event due to the altitude. I remember his win over Nadal there, it was only by servebotting. He constantly served 220+ kph. It felt like playing against Nadal on indoor hardcourt.

He needs to do two things on HC , flaten his Fh a bit ( was problem against Med) make more returns in play ( hire someone like Magnus Norman ) and work on bh. I don't see a reason why he can't fix it. with explosive movement at 6ft 4 he can dominate the tennis and we would have been seeing a very different player had he won RG 2021( one slam win does wonders )

Well, Titz needs time to play good ball with his long strokes. His rally game, whether defence or attack, works best on clay, while his serving game works best on indoor HC I guess.

I don't think Tsitsipas has huge problems being rushed on the FH side. He is probably the most competent Next Gen at rushing play from that wing.

His BH is the big liability, it has low shot tolerance. It doesn't produce enough weight in neutral rallies and can leak short balls if pressured with heavy hitting. And there is also the RoS.

Courier was much more extreme. He'd be 10 times more successful in the 1st half of the season than the rest of the season. In his best years.

Yeah beating Djokovic in final and Zverev does same for the confidence and also Injury is totally in your own hand.
I was being a bit of an ass... but then is not so much about winning a slam as it is about beating one of the big3 in the process. Obviously agree about the injuries.
