Strange pains?

Hey everyone! I have been getting some weird pains all over my body for the last few days/past week. They are in all my main areas: Ankles, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulder blades, and my lower back. I haven't done ANY exercise the past few weeks since I've been absolutely swamped with schooling. Today I noticed a really sharp pain in my lower back and shoulder blades. I've done nothing that could cause any of these pains.

I'm 16, and 5'10, so I'm guessing these might just be growing pains still, but I am not sure. My parents argue with me that I'm done growing already and the such, but I'm not sure. The pains range from weak aches, to full blown stabbing and throbbing where I can't move the part and/or walk. But they never last more then a few minutes at a time. Could this be something more serious then just growing pains from anyone's experience? It's just really strange, and I don't have time to go to my family doctor right now, (Super busy with schooling again.)

Thanks a ton in advance. I hope it's nothing too major, but I just wanted a second opinion from some people who aren't in my family LOL!

Go to a doctor?

Seriously pain all over the body like this could be growing pains but dont you wanna make sure it isnt something else?

Absolutely....see a doc. Pain in nearly all your joints needs to be assessed. You've left out the most important information to assess any pain -- what precipitates it and what relieves it -- so it's impossible for us to know what it might be.

Everyone gets some sort of joint pain if they actually do nothing physical for a few days.
Go stretch, run, jog, anything.

Ignore this idiot at all costs. Anything but getting checked out by a doctor is terrible advice.

Sorry for leaving out some crucial info here everyone! What mostly triggers it is sitting for long periods of time. More then an hour or so of sitting and I start feeling it. While I'm up and about I don't feel it, if it is there. There is no solid relief method for it, it just leaves as fast as it comes.

I will be booking a doctors appointment shortly from the sounds of it! Thanks everyone!

With this added tidbit, you'd better ignore that idiot Maverick66. He knows he's wrong here.
Growing kid, can't sit for long, certainly not hours, without buzzing deadness and numbness.

I didn't want to call you an idiot, Mav, because lots of your posts make good sense, but.....
In this case, I'm only reflecting your comments back to you.
YOU are a hypochondriac, and as such, must see a doctor for every little cold, soreness, ache, or bruise.
Doesn't mean everyone is a girl.

Any kind of pain should be looked at. To say otherwise its so freaking stupid. It could be growing pains but it could also be an issue. We dont know as we are not doctors. Go back to your van down by the river.

Idiot! OP already posted the pain comes from sitting for hours without moving. Go fly your airplane and stick your head out to catch some wind, you idiot.

Pain is not to be ignored. Ever. He should be getting it looked at. If you cant figure that out you are as dumb as the people say you are.

OP, im pretty sure everyone gets this after sitting for longed periods of time. Your body is made to move! It will get sore if you are not doing enough activity. Hence, I get these pains and know many other who do once they are done studying. +1 to Domond Lee here, he is correct about that.

C'mon. Your health is important. There must be time to fit in a doctors visit just to be sure there is not something else going on.

But in the meantime try a "dynamic warmup" to see if helps the pains. That is, almost any kind of movement including a little jog or skipping rope or jumping jacks may help warm up the muscles and make you feel better. Some rotational exercise with a light medicine ball or very light dumbells may help too. I'm not talking a prolonged workout if you don't have the time. But even a two minute break withe some body movement may warm up the muscles and joints and have you feeling better.
Good luck!

I remember sitting through English6 (Shakespeare, I was entralled) and NOT BEING ABLE to stand up after a 55 minute class. I was scheduled to cross campus and up 3 flights, and absolutely COULD NOT stand up for 5 minutes.
Did I see DOC?
Did I call E room SCRUBS?
Did I cry in my pants?
NO, I toughed it out and later went to varsity football practice 2 periods later!
Don't be a sissy. If you've been sitting for an hour, what do you expect?

My groin has been bothering me for six weeks now. It's not terrible but enough to worry about. I've noticed that it worsens at night when I am asleep. Is there any way of sleeping -- lying on my back, perhaps -- that is less likely to aggravate my groin?

Thanks for the posts everyone! I scheduled an appointment with my family doctor this afternoon, he had some time next week in late evening, which finally works into my schedule. I tried some light dynamic exercise, as it was suggested, I noticed my knees and ankles feeling a bit better. I'll still be visiting the doctor, but I got some great suggestions. Thanks! :)
