String a little less "soft" than IsoSpeed Professional Classic?

Can anyone recommend an affordable 1.20 To 1.25mm synthetic or multi string that is a little less "soft" than IsoSpeed Professional Classic 17 but gives similar power?

I used the IsoSpeed Pro Classic 17g as a cross with Solinco Tour Bite 1.20 mains playing doubles today and really appreciated the soft feel the IsoSpeed added at net but I need just a little less 'mushy' feel from the baseline (the feel seemed a little too muted for my taste).

A little more spin from a new cross wouldn't hurt either...think that Isospeed Pro Classic gets a 1.6 on T-W's rating scale.

Thanks for any advice.

I would try the following:

Isospeed Control Classic
Isospeed Professional/Control New version
Head Rip Control

IsoSpeed multi fan.

I really like the Isospeed Axon Multi 16. It has good spin and plenty of power. Also like IsoSpeed Control 16. Good value for a quality arm friendly multi .

In looking at Tennis-Warehouse's Numbers, here's how several strings stacked up against the IsoSpeed Pro Classic:

Stiffness/Energy Return/Spin

IsoSpeed Professional Classic 134/91/1.6 (looking for a bit higher 1st number and higher 3rd number)

Forten Sweet 189/93/3.4
Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 16L 164/93/2.7
Volkl Synthetic Gut 159/92/5.2
Gosen OG Sheep Micro 163/93/3.2
Solinco Vanquish 160/93/3.9
Wilson Sensation 163/93/3.6
Gosen AK Control 157/94/5.4
Prince Lightning XX 177/93/3.5
Klip Scorcher 167/93/3.2
Gosen NanoCubic NanoSilver 157/95/4.5
Head RIP Control 157/91/2.6
Gosen AK Pro 162/91/4.4

I find it interesting that Gosen offers so many strings that seem to be what I might be looking for...at least 'by the numbers'. The other thing I found interesting was the 189 stiffness rating on the Forten Sweet...I think it plays much softer than this.

Thanks for the input so far.

Anyway

One thing I'd note about the Isospeed and Head RIP strings that all use "polyolefin", is that the ribbon polyolefin construction is one that yields unique results that other multis and syn guts do not seem to match.

What I mean is the soft feel combined with low power.

Most soft strings have high power.
Most stiffer strings have low power.
Isospeed Pro Classic is soft, yet low powered too...

The combo of softness and control is the uniqueness that RIP control, Isospeed Classic, etc, have. This is one thing the databases have a hard time classifying. The ribbon multis are very Muted, as they seem to absorb shock and pocket the ball very well. They also seem to lack the 'stretchy, trampoline-like' response that other soft multis have. The result is an odd blend of soft mushiness and low powered control.

I think your best bet is Isospeed's Axon multi, as the other person noted. It has your ribbon wrap outer, but with a poly core, so the feel should not have the same "mush" that the coreless version found in Pro Classic.

I'd recommend Tecnifibre TGV or NRG2. Both are soft, but provide significantly more enery than Isospeed Professional.

Isospeed Axon Multi felt kind of dead/lifeless to me.

If you can get it then Isospeed Classic Gold.

This string is the exact same construction as Professional, slightly thicker at 1,25mm, and the additional gold pigment stiffens it up a bit making it slightly more crisp.

Don't know if it's affordable or/and attainable for you.
