String advice

MUZZA1973

Hi all,
Been a few years away from the game for a few reasons. Looking to get back into hitting on weekends again and are after a new string setup.
I’m just a weekend warrior these days. Played a heap as a junior.
52 yo male, 6’4” tall, flat hitter and single handed backhand.
After control and arm friendly with a little power (can still generate my own )
Would love some advice for strings on the following 2 frames. Full Poly or even hybrid.
Yonex Precept 100D 2025 and Head Radical Tour 2025.
Thanks in advance!

Basically, you can play anything that's on the market.
You probably won't be stringing the racket yourself, so I'd like to pass this question on to your stringer.
He may have a wide range of strings to choose from or be able to give you better information about his strings than we can.

I don't think it makes sense to recommend a string that your stringer doesn't even have.
That would just be unnecessarily complicated and won't help you.

Like the way you think and sounds v reasonable. Like it.

@MUZZA1973 - @fritzhimself isn’t wrong: start with what your stringer actually stocks. Otherwise you’re just designing a setup you can’t easily repeat. Tell him you want a softer, slick, round poly for control + arm-friendliness, string both frames the same, around 48 lbs tension, play a couple hits, then adjust ±2 lbs. If your arm is even slightly cranky, go gut or multi mains + that same soft round poly in the crosses (mains ~52–55, crosses ~48–51) and you should be good.

-i like to narrow the options by using the racquet manufacturer first
-soo, yonex frame, try yonex.poly.tour.pro string
-i would start with a 17g 1.25mm
-i would also use this on the head racquet and see how it performs on both frames first

-if price is an issue, you need to mention that!, so that we can recommend something a bit more specific
-yonex strings tend to be about $15-$18 a set..
-but there are a bunch of other string options in the $10 range also

-what tension are you thinking of stringing?
-also what was the last poly you used?

yonex 16L is 1.25
