!!Hybrid tension and combination ideas!!

To the Board,
Hey everyone, this is my first post, I just want to say in advance I appreciate your constructive suggestions.
I will be receiving 6 new sets of strings in the mail today for my brothers and I to playtest, 3 poly's and 3 synthetic gut/multi. strings. There are really a lot of combinations that one could use with this number of strings but I know many of you have played with these strings and can provide us with constructive advice about combinations and tensions.

The Strings:

Poly.

1. TF Pro Red Code 17
2. Kirschbaum Super Smash Spiky 16
3. SPPP 1.23

Multi./Syn. Gut.

1. Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16
2. TF E-Matrix
3. Babolat COnquest 16

My intention is to string our rackets with hybrids of the above strings, unless a good number of you suggest a full poly for example.

I received the strings on Friday...the Super Spiky has a very interesting appearance, which I hop leads to more spin.

The Pro Red Code is exactly that, very red, almost blood red

The SPPP also has an interesting appearance as far as color is concerned.

I think I might string the TF strings together, just so I have some congruence.

Does anyone have tension ideas for the Pro Red code or Kirschbaum? I will most likely adhere to the instructions of stringing with 10% less tension for the SPPP as written on the package.

Any thoughts on Babolat Conquest?

Thanks

I played with good sucess with SPPP. Also I´ve heard very good comments from this combination: SPPP mains + Gosen OG crosses.

happylefty,
thanks for the comments. Im looking forward to stringing up the SPPP. I will probably string it with gosen in the crosses as I have also heard good comments about the setup.

I have received the strings and am very stoked. The poly's all look very cool, especially the pro red code. I am a bit worried about the TF e-matrix, after a seach i found out that although people enjoye dthe string generally, it did break fairly quickly. I think i will have it strung in my C7 being that it has an 18x20 pattern...that should help.

Anyway, I have posted way to many time in a thread I started so if you have a moment please leave your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks

I'm getting a new C7 in the mail over the weekend hopefully. I am going to go with the SPPP and Gosen, probably at 57 or 55...

The C7 is a killer frame - I'm about to dust off mine and string it up with IsoSpeed Professional. Haven't used my C7 in 1.5 yrs. Best Volkl in recent history even though it's been d/c for over 5 years now

I agree completely. I pulled my c7 out from under my bed about a year ago after having not hit with it since high school...i began enjoying it right away, and understood that my game at the time I bought the racket was not up to par for what the racket demands. I got lucky anf was able to find a new one after doing some searching, i should be getting it from the stringer on Tuesday, and will hit with hit Christmas break. I'm stoked to say the least...

I strung one of my new m-fil 200 2006's with Kirsch. Super Spiky at 55 in the mains, and TF e-fiber matrix at 57 in the crosses. I was a bit surprized, it was very powerful.

I think I may have made a mistake, low tensions worked well with my low-powered flexible Volkls, but it does not seem to be the case with my m-fil, which as you may know is much stiffer.

Slices were very easy to hit and were bitign very well, the topspin backhand was also very good, but I was consistently hitting forhands long...I dont want to blame the stringjob though because it was the first time I hasve hit with the racket, and the first time hitting with these strings...so it may take some time to adjust.
