String for Blade my new 16 x 19 V7 recommendation please...Black Knight an option that you've tried??

I know this topic is extremely individualistic but was looking for any opinions from this vast wealth of players. I've been using Tour Bite 16L around 52# on a Angell TC100 racquet and before that a Pure Strike PO7 at around 48#. After moving away from the Pure Strike for arm issues I liked the Angell for but not getting the control I want. as it wields a huge amount of power and spin.

Enter the Wilson Blade V7. I know a lot of folks use both versions and I really like the feel and control a lot but also feel that there might be a better string than TB16L for this racquet. I value control and feel as mentioned and have enough power in this lower powered racquet.

I have some Black Knight 1.28 on the sidelines to test out and was curious if there were any obvious choices that I'm missing. For reference I do like ALU Power 16L but just cant afford to change it out all the time as it does die out faster than most. Never broken poly strings, just the syn guts, but have definitely made them bag out. Any thoughts are helpful. Thx!

I really like Kirschbaum Max Power 1.20 or 1.25, similar to ALU Power. Last longer at a good tension, more affordable. Tradeoff is is Alu Power Feels just a tad better, of course.

I really like Kirschbaum Max Power 1.20 or 1.25, similar to ALU Power. Last longer at a good tension, more affordable. Tradeoff is is Alu Power Feels just a tad better, of course.

It's a pretty good string on any racquet. Btw, right now the reel is 2 for 1 in TW. Although it's one of the strings you could blindly buy a reel, test it first.

We here at Tier One Sports personally love hybrid-ing Black Knight with Ghost Wire in the crosses!

What would you say the advantage is over a full bed of Black Knight? (Which is fine string btw!) And do you recommend the 1.23 or 1.28 for the hybrid or even full bed on a racquet like the Blade?

Something else to consider in your 16x19 v7 Blade is Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour. I've had good success with a full bed of 17g @ 50lbs. I bought a sample pack of the Tier One strings recently so I'll be trying the Black Knight/Ghost Wire hybrid soon as well. For what it's worth I tried Firewire and found it to be a bit "plasticy" and unpredictable.

For what it's worth I tried Firewire and found it to be a bit "plasticy" and unpredictable.

I've heard some nice things as well about BHS7T. One of them recently being a more comfortable Tour Bite, which sounds good to me. Hmm, another interesting option. The rabbit hole is getting deeper.

I hate plasticky string feeling as well. To me Hyper-G felt that way on my Pure Strikes.

Confidential might be worth trying as well. It's comparable to BHS7T but doesn't hold tension as well. You can feel it loosen up way more than BHS7T in my opinion. I like it better than HyperG for sure.

Nice suggestions. Ordering a set of BHS7T and a set of Ghost Wire to go with my Black Knight. I did notice on the TW string comparison that the tension maintenance in the 17g Silver 7 wasn't as good as the stellar 16g numbers. I'm not sure about going 16g though...I'll try the 17g.

I've tried both the 16g and 17g BHS7T and didn't notice much of a difference in tension maintenance. I'm going to string up a Black Knight/Ghost Wire hybrid this evening and give it a try in the morning and will let you know what I think.

Based on your feedback we would recommend substituting Black Knight with Firewire. This setup should offer more power and in particular huge spin potential.

That's good info. I also enjoy a crisp, spin friendly setup. That's what got me onto the Tour Bite in the first place. I just got my BHS7T in and will give that a whirl next!

That’s interesting...I’m going to have to try the Ghost wire crosses. They were out of stock last time I checked. Good info!

I have really enjoyed volki cyclone tour 16. Weirdly softer than their 17/18g. And huge spin. For me it literally leaves gouges on the balls deforming them. It has become my favorite thing to look the balls after play to see how tour up they are. I used to play hyper g 18g but when went from 18x20 (ultra tour) to 16x19 (blade v7) was breaking the hyper g in to 3 hours.

I have been using the black but have a friend who likes the red (little softer in his opinion)

I found the Firewire to be a bit plasticky and unpredictable in a full bed. When it came off the racquet as expected it was nice though. I'm making my way through the sample pack I ordered.
