String Gauge - Static and Swing Weight Difference

I need to purchase a new reel of Alu. I usually use 1.25 gauge. I'm considering a 1.20 gauge now. I know it will be slightly lighter in static weight. I'm thinking maybe 2 grams in a 97? And swingweight will drop as well. Probably 4 SW points? I'm sure others have switched up their string gauges. How easy of an adjustment was it for you? My season has started and I don't want to screw myself up by having to make big adjustments to my strokes. And I also don't want to regret dropping a lot of money for a reel of 1.20 and having to go back to my usual 1.25 gauge right away to finish out my season.

Stick with the 1.25.

The feel (less solid, more wiry.... duh?) and hitting characteristics from previous post changes a good amount and to many players feel & trust in the stringbed is everything especially in important moments.

Static weight will drop by 8% or about 1.4 g, while SW will drop about 2.5 points. You could add 4 4 cm strips of 1/4” lead at 3&9 and your static and swing weight should stay about the same.

I would try buying a set first before I bought a reel.
