string like rpm blast to try please

Currently Play money tournaments with an old beat up racquet.. Whatever strings half the time and old shoes.

Just bought a pure strike and a dr98 to test . Looking to get set up properly

Only tryed about 3 different strings in my life . But I am fully happy with the style of rpm blast and what it does.

IF there are any similer strings .. That are cheaper or more spin friendly or possibly one that doesn't go dead so quick. OR even more arm friendly aswell

No idea but I think I am about a 4.5/5.0 in U.s.a I Use alot of heavy topsin and alot of slice too..

Just want a list of 3 to try. I realise most improvement comes from within not the equipment!

Cheers guys

I felt that tecnifibre pro red code played somewhat similar.
I also read that tourna big hitter black is similar & am trying that out right now - tourna does feel like it is not quite as slick & does not snap back as quick though.
I've been looking for the same thing though.

Personally couldn't disagree more about BHB7. It's about as soft of a poly as you can get while RPM is one of the firmest.

Cyclone feels similar and is half the cost. Black shark might work for you too.

Ok cyclone is definately in.
Has any1 tried the solinco spin string forget name ? I tried blast rough but it was strung as a hybrid with xcel snapped in like 2.5 hours might look into this tourna one too cheers

Hyper G? Or Tour Bite? Could be either on the solinco string.

I've tried cyclone, cyclone tour, Hyper G, & Tour bite.

I know that RPM blast is rated as pretty stiff but oddly it does not feel too harsh on my arm at all. I even have 16 gauge blast in a couple of my rackets at the moment & my elbow feels ok - no issues.

None of the other strings have given me elbow problems either but they do feel firmer on contact to me than blast - blast just seems to have this slight springiness on contact (like a little cushion or give) which seems to make it feel more powerful to me than the others. It has a great blend of spin, pop, & control that is hard to find - it just costs so much though for a pack.

Hyper G felt like the least powerful & most muted string out of the bunch. I still like RPM blast better than any of the others mentioned at the moment & liked Hyper G the least because of how dead it felt to me on contact but others have raved about playability of these strings so to each their own.

RPM is def a top string for me in specific frames, I just wish it didn't break the bank due to it's price and short life span.

I have some Hyper G waiting for a first use as well as Ultra Cable which seems similar. Don't think either will feel like RMP though.

Yonex poly tour pro for a nice feeling poly with decent power. I string it into high 50s no problem. Poly tour fire has less power but stiffer feel with more spin. I would recommend staying under 50. Pro hurricane tour has decent life to it as well

I am a former RPM blast user. My three favorite shaped polys:

1. Diadem Elite XT
2. Solinco Tour Bite
3. Diadem Solstice Power

hi vardy

i thought the tier one sports string tour status was like rpm blast
i use to play rpm blast 17, when i switched to tour status 17, i couldnt tell the difference
tour status is $9 set vs rpm blast $18
i bought a couple of reels, and used them for a few years, it brings the cost to $5 stringjob
when you buy the reel on sale

anyway, i have migrated to alu power and solinco tour bite and hyperG
still use the tour status in my wife's and kid's racquets, as they dont have any preference
for strings

hope that this helps

Diadem solstice power is a great string. Loads of spin and good amount of power and control. So is elite xt. To me both of them keep tension very consistently throughout its life, but they, well at least elite xt, breaks rather fast. Broke in 4 days of solid practice and heavy spin in my 18/20. Usually break string in 1-1.5 weeks. Would definitely reccommend for anyone to try them tho!
Can't go wrong with solinco polys either
Tier one strings are also great and very affordable. Fire wire and neos 3/ black knight are the best out of the group. Not a fan of tour status
