String Recommendation for AeroPro Drive GT

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a string recommendation for this particular racket. I have tried to search through the forums, but it seems I cant get an accurate recommendation unless I ask people with experience playing various strings that know exactly what I'm looking for.

Babolat AeroPro Drive GT:
- 10.6oz (unstrung?)
- 7pts HL
- 100 sq in. headsize
- 16 x 19 string bed

About me:
- 4.5 NTRP University Club player
- Like to play aggressive baseline and come up on short balls
- One handed backhand
- Like to play with alot of topspin

What I'm looking for:
- A string setup that does not lose tension quickly like the fullbed of RPM Blast I recently tried
- A cheap setup, I have to pay to get my racket strung so I prefer less than $50 for the job including labor+strings
- I am open to try full bed or a hybrid set up.

I really liked the RPM Blast for the first couple sessions they were great. I would like to get a similar string setup to the feel of the early RPM Blast except without the tension loss obviously. I hit fairly hard but I wouldnt say I'm a string breaker. For me, in a hybrid setup, would I go poly in main or crosses? Some great strings Ive found through the forums are the Gosen Sheep Micro, and the Black 5 edge, along with the RPM Blast ive already tried.

Your advice is greatly appreciated and I would be happy to elaborate on any point if I was unclear. Thanks!

you should probably try a hybrid with the Gosen sheep micro and some other good but cheap poly, like solinco tourbite, or any of the Tourna strings. But put the Gosen in the crosses because it wont last too long in the mains.

Thanks Kool, I found Tourna Poly Big Hitter Black 7 String 16, and I like the reviews. If I were to go with this and Gosen in the crosses do you have any tension recommendations? Should one be lower than the other? I have never hybrid strung before.

Give MSV Focus Hex and Volkl Cyclone a try. They have similar spin and control like RPM but not near the cost. They both play good around 50 lbs.

The B5Edge is playing very well for me right now in a hybrid setup....50x54 lbs.

If your gonna go with the Tourna and Gosen setup try to keep it nice and low, low to mid 50's. And keep the gosen at a lower tension than the tourna as it will help in durability.

Volkl cyclone 16g at 55#

I played with this racquet for quite some time. Tsimilar game to yours, the spin with this combo is unbelievabe...... Drop shots, slice, etc. 55# full poly on a constant pull machine.

Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16 and Technifbre Pro Red Code 16. 6.62~ price w/o tax or shipping and labor.
Or, try full bed of Pro Red Code or full bed of Babolat Revenge.

I like the idea of full bed revenge, but will it lose tension quickly like the RPM blast? Also does it feel similar to the blast or different and what tension would you put it at for this racket?

How much tension lost are you experiencing with rpm blast?

I'm still testing out various polys and so far I find that all polys lose significant tension even for those brands that people say retain tension better..maybe that's just me?
