String recommendation in Yonex VCore 100

Hi All,

What strings do you or have you used and recommended in your Yonex Vcore 100. I have some Poly Tour Rev, I know Yonex have a muted feel, but its like the Rev is too soft or feels too mushy to me. As the Yonex already has a muted feel, prob needs more of a crisp string. Mine is the 2023 Yonex Vcore 100

How does the regular Poly Tour Pro compare? What is the firmer and more crisp of the 2. Keen to hear what others have used and recommend.

-IMO, this is how i rank/see/feel them
-REV is "crisp" , shaped (second least favorite 4me, again, i do not favor stiff strings), i like the color options!!
-PRO is more muted and comfortable/softer (my favorite of the yonex strings)
-FIRE softest of the polys (TOO SOFT FOR ME)
-STRIKE is provably STIFFEST, round, my least favorite ( I DONOT LIKE STIFF STRINGS)
-DRIVE is shaped and i find muted, not much else comes to mind
-dont ask me about AIR, i do not know, never tried it!

If you wanna stick with Yonex strings and prefer a firmer and crisp respond. There is only one choice.
Strike

@Clarky75 - If the feeling with Rev is still too muted and not firm enough, then I would look at PT Strike, otherwise move on from Yonex strings altogether and looking at the following more crisp and firm options:

- Head Lynx Tour Grey
- Head Hawk White or Silver
- Kirschbaum Max Power / Rough
- Luxilon Alu Power / Rough
- MSV Bussard
- Solinco Tour Bite / Soft
- Tourna Silver 7 Tour

Decent list Trip, could add Tour Sniper too. I'm searching for a TBHS7T with just a little bit more power, just a bit is enough.
I'm in the same boot. I really struggle with the exagerated muted feel of the Vcore 2023. In that aspect found 2021 better as it gave bit more feedback still.

Yep, should have added Sniper. Good mention.

As for a BHS7T with more power, that's a tough one, mainly because of S7T's obvious 7 sides, plus the somewhat-unique high-temperature finishing, which allows it to hold its tension and edge sharpness so well (as well as be more prone to sheer breakage, from that same brittleness). All of that combined, a bit of a unicorn.

In my travels, the closest thing I've found to what you've looking for might be Genesis Typhoon Silver, but it's going to be noticeably more soft, and although the tension maintenance is solid, it isn't quite up to S7T's lofty standard.

Thanks for the suggestions all, will also add Grapplesnake to the list, I could end up where I started and back to trusty Luxilon Alu Power, albeit with more frequent re strings

@Trip : just added Genesis Typhoon to my list and ordered it, among several others
@Clarky75 : hehe another one wanting something similar to Alu. Don't we all. Countering the frequent need for restringing Alu, why don't you try 4G Soft instead?
@vdsp : Con is my string of choice in Ezone and is ok in Vcore 2021. But the 2023 version feels and plays a lot more dampened. Confi doesn't really feel the same in that frame
@VanDerVaart23 : I've heard that recommandation often. For some reason that string is one of the few that i normally would/should like by charactheristics, but actually didn't

@Tennis And Anime Lover I will try the 4g soft, you know for all the years I have played tennis and used polys, the Alu Power still is the best, admittedly much more frequent re strings, so many come and go, but for me that is still the best

I have played Alu when i was a teenager, but didn't commit to it cause of high price versus high restringing ratio. I have sets of 4G Soft coming my way for the same reason i suggested it to you. Better Tension Maintenance and as a result of that less restringing which makes it a possible better option value for money.
