String recommendations for Prince TT 310

Hi all,

I am looking to re-string my Prince TT 310.

I am looking for an arm friendly setup, control, and spin.

My preference is for non-hybrid setup, if possible, and up to $15 cost.

Could someone please suggest some strings and tensions.

Unless you are a monster spin hitter (spin as your primary weapon), I really love Wilson Power 17 for a budget string.

It's softer feeling than multi, easier power than poly, and more predictable than gut. I get about 70% of the spin I get out of poly with fantastic feel, forgiveness, and placement. It's a perfectly well-balanced string for a perfectly well-balanced racket. I love the TT 310.

Thanks for the recommendation (I love TT 310. It is an awesome, under-appreciated racquet)

Do you have any recommended tensions for Wilson Power 17?

I have tried it anywhere from 42 (too low but not terrible) to 50 (fine). I'd say 47 to 52 depending on if you generally play tighter to begin with. Whatever you like in poly, you can bump up maybe 3 lbs with this one.

My favorite aspect of the string is that it doesn't overhit as badly at a looser tension than a lot of the alternatives, so don't go too tight.

My favorite setup so far is Kirschbaum pro line 2 17g at 47 lbs. Predictable string in a predictable racquet.

I enjoyed MSV Hex soft in 16g at 50# in the TT310. Lots of spin to be had with this frame.

The 18g MSV Ultra worked really well for me. If you want a bit more pop then the Kirschbaum ProLine Evo is a great choice

I 've tried many and settled on Signum Pro Xperience 1,25 at 22kg. Nice blend of power, spin and comfort. Holds tension pretty well too.

Heh; I just wandered into this section randomly hoping to find some discussion about strings for the racquet, and here we are!

I’m only on my second string job in my 310.

First was Cyclone 16 at 50lbs. As expected, this was a good performer in all aspects and a standout in none.

I use Cyclone as my starting point/control when I buy a new racquet, because I know what to expect with it.

I’ve now got Tour Bite in it. Full bed at 52 lbs.

Tour Bite feels really good, better connection to the ball than Cyclone for sure.

I think barring any elbow concerns, Tour Bite is going to be hard to beat in this frame. Such a good pairing. Slightly muted frame with a very crisp string—perfection.

Here in Aus my local shop doesn’t get many of the more niche string brands you guys talk about so I tend to stick with what I know

Anecdotally, and not sure it applies to anyone, but must say.......I love this frame and highly recommend that you try Wilson Nat gut mains and ALU Power silver crosses at least once and report back! Do it! You will be in absolute TT310 heaven. 48/44 btw.
