String stiffness and power question

Is string stiffness the only string factor that determines power other than tension? I ask because I have recently used Topspin Cyber Flash 1.25 with a string stiffness of 240 and Luxilon Big Banger Original 16 with a string stiffness of 249. The Cyber Flash seems more stiff to me, which I like, but the Big Banger generates more power, which I don't like. Is the different tension loss the only explanation?

Thanks,
Chad

The USRSA numbers are great to get a general idea of the string stiffness, and are accurate, but can never completely describe the string.

Strings change stiffness with tension, and a string that may be softer than another at a low tension can be much stiffer at higher tensions.

Check out the TW String Comparison Tool for more numbers.

Thanks for the reply and pointing out the String Comparison Tool. I assume the only way to determine the string that is the stiffest at varying tensions is to try a variety of strings, correct?
