String tension help!

Hi guys!

I received my new pure aero and i don't know what string tension choose.

With my old Aeropro Drive 2013 was using 57lb for verticals and 56lb for horizontal but the range in that racquet is 55-65 and in the new pure aero i have to choose between 50-59.

So i don't know how to translate APD2013 string tension to the new pure aero!

Hope you can help me guys!

Thanks!

Start at 55 or 54. What kind of strings are u using? Also do you hit with lots of spin? Or flat shots? I think 54 or 55 is a great start. I do 53 on poly and 55 on synthetic.

Hope that helps

I think 55 mains and 54 for crosses or just go 55 everything. Play and if u need more control go up.if u need more power go lower. I played with aero Pro at 55 lbs and it was great. Whit my pure aero i play 53 on polys

Really depends on the string. Aero is one powerful stick so If you choose synthetic or multi (which I personally would not use in it) than somewhere around 60/58. This stick begs for a full bed of poly - if its a powerful one 55/53. Lower power polys I would start around 52lbs. In both cases I like to adjust the tension lower for following stringjobs until the control is getting affected

The printed specs are just manufacterer's starting recomendations.
You can go down to 35 lbs with a high gauge stiff poly, or you can go to 60+ lbs with resilent gut.
3 of my racket's with a stiffness rating of 69, 100 sq's, get 35 lbs. tension with STBite16, and it plays just fine even against 5.0+ level player's. My legs don't hold up against them, but that isn't the fault of the strings.

While I would recommend starting off at your regular tension, I eventually went up like two or three pounds when I got my Pure Aero just to compensate for the extra pop it has compared to the 2013.

I agree, I would go up about 3-4lbs from the APD.
