String Warping

me and my brothers friend were playing tennis the other day, we finished playing singles and we got roped into 1 set of doubles with a couple of guys i know who were there. Anyway, it started raining really heavilly and was persistent for over the hour we were playing. On the way home he told me that if strings get really wet it warps the strings, I can believe this guy because he knows a lot about most sports, but i couldnt help but think that this was maybe only a factor for wooden racquets (with natural gut) and it doesnt affect my poly strings at all. Anyone know if he was right?

Poly strings are not affected by moisture. As you mentioned, "warping" was something that happened to wooden racquets back in the stone age.
