Stringing example #2: Head Speed Pro Graphene Youtek 18*20

Another example for a racquet I just had on my machine. I think it is a great way to use a 1-piece stringing pattern for this racquet. Because of the shared grommets, not all ATW patterns will work. In this case, I used the "ATW short side" pattern.

My solution for ATW:
Summary: SS M8 clamp, LS X2-X19, tie off 10T, SS M9(SS), X20, M9(LS),X1, tie off 7H

A bit longer ;-) :
  • short side string up until 8th main, clamp on the outside of frame
  • with long side, string up until 8th main, then string crosses 2 - 19, tie off at 10T
  • with short side, retension 8th main, string M9 on short side, X20, M9 on long side, X1. Tie off at 7H.

Great pattern. As always, your reactions are more than welcome, always eager to learn different approaches

You end up with 4 difficult weaves at the end stringing all the outer strings. If you run all those string before stringing crosses 2-19 it is easier IMO.

I understand, but then you would have a hard weave every other cross string, now you have only 4 at the end...... so I think I will stick with doing the box at the end. Thanks for your suggestion!

I had a 18x20 Head Speed Pro because I was told Novak used a similar stick and because I had a Head racquet in HS that I loved and still have to this day. The 18x20 was really a pain to string and using string set packs I had to be careful not to run out of string. 16x19 racquest without shared holes are easier to string.

Note: ( I dont think Novak uses a racquet with shared holes).

SS: 8 mains and top 2 crosses
LS: 9 LS mains, last cross, last SS main, rest of the crosses
Thanks, also a good possibillity, except for the hard weaves, which I try to avoid if possible.... But hardly any overlaps too!

I strung a lot of these in the Graphene Touch Speed Pro cosmetic for a guy who used a gut-poly hybrid.

I was happy when he switched to the Graphene 360 Speed Pro...no shared holes.
