Strings for Heavy Spin Baseliner, was on RPM Rough but tension loss

As title mentioned, I’m a heavy spin baseliner that was using a 130/16 RPM Rough 200m coil for the past couple months. I strung at 24/23 kg (~53lbs) but after a 5 to 8 hours I’m having lots of issues controlling the ball and hitting long. Any recommendation for a high-end string that can hold sufficient tension for 10 hours. I normally break strings at 10-15 hours.

I personally use hyper g & it's a great string for the first week then it turns to crap but I have been breaking strings more & more often, anyway I'm getting off topic. Well for the ones I have tried is that hyper g & cyclone are my recommendations.

Black Knight.

Cross with Isospeed Grey Fire for maximum Jolly effect.

If you want a name brand use BBO, if you need power too add ALU crosses.

I have reviewed 30+ strings here - http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/ultimate-string-of-choice.689948/
I am familiar with RPM Blast Rough 1.30 and in general I have a preference towards 1.30 gauges in 16x19 racquets.
That being said the closest string to RPM Blast Rough was Mayami Magic Twist 1.30 and I had no issues with string tension maintenance. (BTW my string tension preference is also 24/23kg haha)

I’d face their balls (so to speak) before making a judgment based on string breaking time.
No worry, I took no offense. I’m not a 5.5 player or anything. Just know I’m breaking strings every other week, and perhaps every week if I play 1-2 strong opponents. If I play a lot of recreational doubles matches then they last a lot longer. :)

Signum Pro Poly Plasma or the Hextreme version. Both are factory pre stretched for tension maintenance. Other choices are Kirschbaum Pro Line II family. If you are a DIY, you can pre stretch any 20' section of poly 4" permanently to achieve the same effect.

edit: by Pro Line II, I mean all their pre stretched strings.

I'm not sure there is a solution. I start spraying hits at about 6 hours with poly but since I string my rackets it just commit to restringing an average 1.5 rackets per week.

I tried PLII and I think it's a decent string with some pocketing and comfort but it somehow lacks spin. Tension maintenance was good but it gets notched pretty easily but not as easily as the max power..

The 16 Ga lasts longer. When I say Pro Line II family, I mean all the pre stretched strings offered by Kirschbaum. Max Power belongs in that category.

If you break a string in 10-15 hours, you are not a heavy spin baseliner..
You could try Solinco Tourbite 130 or even 135.
But after 8 hours you should cut out your poly strings anyaway.

bahh. Breaking strings is very dependent on the incoming ball. You try to put spin on a fast paced ball, you’ll break strings far quicker than putting spin on a moderate or low paced ball.

HG/ HG soft, SPPP hextreme, mayami tour hex, dunlop black widow in thickest gauge possible is probably your best bet. If you don’t mind full bed round strings, 4G has great longevity. If you want stiffer sharp shaped string for more control +spin, tour bite/confidential/silver 7 tour.

I ended up getting a spool of Hyper G based on the tt review, some ppl’s recommendations and your write up. Yeah, you didn’t seem to like Hyper G, but you didn’t hate it either. A lot of people recommended Mayami here and I think I’ll try that for my next spool.

When my strings break, it’s almost always on a service return. Happened again today against a 5.0 player, I lost :(

ahh yes. definitely a must try string for the attackers. It's very personal and depends also on racquet of choice. Good luck and have fun ! Let me know how it goes with hyper g :) I think you will loose some control coming from a RPM Blast Rough. Maybe more spin. Hyper G has more response.

I was a couple clicks away from buying two spools of rpm blast normal but decided to check here first. I had too high of hopes on RPM Rough and was let down, and that made me hesitant to try another Babolat (especially from the same string family).

I didn’t indicate above... I got the Hyper G 125 (16L).

Ok, wel never tried the rough but i tested all kinds of different strings and find the normal rpm blast truly one of the bests in the end. It's also said that the rough is livelier so maybe the normal will fit you too.

And if you play with a powerfull frame you could add 0.5 or 1kg..

Plus rpm blast is not really expensive for a reel in Europe, around 100.

I like Yonex Polytour Spin. I get ~8-10 hours of playtime out of it, which is a bit more than I was getting with RPM Blast or Volkl Cyclone with very similar feel.
