Strings for Pure Drive standard

Only strings I've tried are luxilon ALU power (55 lbs) and psgd (58 lbs). Luxilon is way too harsh, and psgd doesn't seem like that great of a string.

Never tried hybrid, but I don't see how good that would be for me. I'm looking for a soft, playable string (multifilament maybe?).

I was thinking Yonex tour 850... any input on that? Any other recommendations? Thanks a bunch.

Try the classic hybrid suggested for PureDrive:

Main: Babolat ProHurricane
Cross: Babolat Xcel (or VS touch) ;)

I personally using a poly string (ProHurricane Tour) and i think with this kind of racket (powerful, elastic and flexible) an "hard" string works better.

I mean for "hard string" a mono or poly like ProHurricane Tour or better Luxilon Alu Power!

Luxilon BB ORIGINAL is the only string that works for me in this frame 62lbs

pure drive standard is not flexible!! it is one of the stiffest player/tweener frames available!

yeah most babolats (except pure storm) are as stiff as they come. my pd is definitely not flexible or elastic, just light and very stiff. i would go with a soft string for this racket, after i switched from the prohurricane, to prince topspin, i noticed drastic results (started winning vs. people i couldnt beat before, A LOT)

You would proabably want to use polys with all babolats since they're so powerful.

SPPP or cyber flash would work great.

MIGJAM strings mine with GAMMA/16 synthetic gut on the mains and GAMMA Dura/15 spin on the crosses. I have no idea if this is the best set up for this frame but it works for me. A couple of the rackets are strung at 55lbs and others strung at 58lbs. Occasionally I go and play at altitude and warmer weather and then string up at 62lbs, just to keep the ball in play.

Never thought of using a textured string. I thought that they didn't play well for long?

Another good string for the PD's is Isospeed Professional.

Looks like a good string. But seems like the durability is extremely poor? I realize that multi's don't have the best durability, but is there one that is more durable than others?

Edit: has anyone ever tried Klip K-boom in this racquet? It's a nylon/poly mixture string. Supposed to be softer than straight poly.

Yes, its a mulit but it is a multi polyolefin, which is similar to polyester. You could also run with Isospeed Control in the mains and Isospeed Professional in the crosses. I'm telling you, you'll like the string.

I tried K-Boom in my PDOS. It worked better in my POGOS. I found Hurricane to be better in the PD. Im going to try SPPP and Cyberflash tomorrow (in the PD).This being said, K-boom is a good string, it looks a lot like Cyberflash, plays like it too. Wonder if they might be the same string.

Well, if you're looking to go with full poly, low-power, and pretty arm-easy, I'd maybe look into Prince Tour Silver 16, or possibly 17 if you'd prefer.

honestly I have to say I think Babolat Pro Hurricane doesnt play very good in the pure drives. which is kinda ironic but ah well
