which toroline string do you like?Unfortunately i think m8 is pretty reasonable in price… and it is a bit unique. I prefer toroline but wouldn’t say its a replacement. And i think even w a discount the prices are similar. Maybe you save $20 but if m8 is your string, its worth it. You qould have to try tourna silver tour or something to save money.
How would you compare M8 and ALU playability and feel wise for a freshly strung racquet? The playability, feel and consistency (gives me confidence to go for my shots) of fresh ALU is too good so I plan on getting my gen 4 pure strike 18x20s strung with em before matches, but for regular practice and clinics I need something that lasts longer but close playability and feel wise.M8 is worth the price. There isn't much else like it. Compare it to other strings than have few rivals, like ALU Power or 4G, it's a steal considering the playability lasts so long and is so well rounded. I think the only thing that gets close is ReString Sync, but the feel isn't quite the same.
You could try stretching the reel by going for M8 mains and something cheap like Tourna Big Hitter Silver, but again, it just won't be the same.
Hahaha, M8 feels deeper and more solid, but less crisp and direct compared to ALU, going off memory. I haven't hit M8 since last Summer TBH so I'm not 100% confident. None of the Toroline stuff will fill your void. It's good stuff, I especially think that Caviar is excellent, but they make stuff that's almost the complete opposite of ALU.How would you compare M8 and ALU playability and feel wise for a freshly strung racquet? I have ordered a reel of sync which has yet to arrive and will try it in a full bed and in a hybrid with M8/supertoro/caviar/toro-toro in the mains.
I'm starting to relate to being a therapy patient for ALU syndrome like in your video on sync vs ALU.
I tried Sniper in a full bed in a prestige pro aux 2.0 18x20 and it played amazing. A practice partner said it made such a nice sound on the volleys probably due to the pocketing and longer dwell time. I would say it had a lot more pocketing than ALU, less metallic crispness when the ball leaves the stringbed but more when the ball sits on the stringbed (maybe due to the longer dwell time which exaggerated the feel on contact?), and a higher launch angle (as expected from a shaped string). In my strikes with a higher RA I'm gravitating towards stiffer, crisper polys with less pocketing.Hahaha, M8 feels deeper and more solid, but less crisp and direct compared to ALU, going off memory. Sniper mains/Sync crosses will probably be a 9/10 or better for you if you love ALU.
Thoughts on m8 vs zero/sync in a pt352.1- effectively a radical pro?Hahaha, M8 feels deeper and more solid, but less crisp and direct compared to ALU, going off memory. In a rad pro I’d probably like the zero/sync but I like the feel and control of m8 and I would sync sprayed a bit. Prefer Sero.Thoughts on m8 vs zero/sync in a pt352.1- effectively a radical pro?
M8 is exceptionally stable, zero/sync is also super stable but a bit more lively and there is no break-in, which I like. I don’t find significant differences in spin. On returns of serve, m8 is #1. Defending off my backfoot, prefer zero/sync. As a whole, zero/sync is more complete when considering serve and arm friendliness. Control is negligible.
