I need a string that doesn't moves as little as possible but Lux cost too darn much. Any suggestion?
The Babolat Ballistics are pretty good non-moves, it still moves a little but still pretty stiff. Just depends what you want the non-movement for.
Well I use lots of topspin, so I need a string that doesn't move so much, I know Luxilon is great at that but it just costs too damn much.
The string with the least resistance to movement is Unique Tournapoly Big Hitter. Plays similar to Lux ALU, but a heck of a lot cheaper.
Monogut, and polygut. These are polys cost is $4 and $5 and are good for 3 or 4 weeks for me.
PolyStar Energy and Signum Pro Poy Megaforce are your best bets around $9. You can email me to find out where to buy them.
laserfibre kryptonite or signum pro poly plasma (same string)
Kevlar doesn't move for a long time...
kevlar also kills your elbow.
try wilson enduro pro . Its also a polyester based string like luxilon
gauge is a factor you should take into consideration. thinner strings move much more.
like has been mentioned, the unique big hitter and the signum plasma are good lux imitators.
Unique Big Hitter... I've used the 16 and 17 guage. Both are great for staying in place, I hit with a lot of topspin and pace. Go with the 17 for more bite and feel.
What about gut? Does that move? They need to make a string that is soft but has stick to it, I have felt material before that when you attempted to slide your hand accross it would provide a large about of friction although it was absolutely smooth.
Kinda like having Beez Wax on there, or Sexy Wax aka Surf board wax.
Other wise just use a ploy and string it super low to say 50lbs and that will soften it up.
Or do like everyone else and hybrid it so you have the best of both worlds.
Some players do use just gut, does that move?
I was using Babolat's Pro Hurricane. They never moved but got stiffer as time went by. I just replaced them with KLIP uncoated gut...it moves much more. 1st time gut user...not that impressed.
Big Hitter is Lux Alu Power. Well ALMOST. And cheaper
Most polys will stay in place. Also IsoSpeed Control stays in place pretty well.
