So Tour Status did not exactly last long... Broke around 4 hours in, of which 2 were somewhat serious hitting. My thoughts will not be as exhaustive as I'd like, but I'll do my best to be informative.
Tour Status is decently spin friendly, but not wowing in that regard. Stringing it was not the easiest experience, given that the gear shape made it feel somewhat rough on the fingers - but what was noticeably is that the crosses dented and notched rather quickly. The string is more on the muted side in my opinion and pockets the ball decently for a poly. I'm not sure how to class the liveliness of the string, as I could not find a consistent response or level of power on different strokes, and the muted feel did not help me get a feel for the string's performance either. Towards the end I started to get more of a feel for how the string responds on faster and slower strokes, but then the string broke. I myself found it a bit too lively and disconnected when going for spin shots (be it slice or topspin) and so I never really felt comfortably with what felt like a somewhat erratic response. In sum, on the groundstrokes I was not fond of the string, and I was playing much more comfortably from the baseline after Tour Status broke and I could use Strike Force Rip (more on that on a later date).
On volleys the string was much better. A short punchy movement paired well with the string's pocketing to give a good feel for where the ball is going. I could bleed pace or punch the ball deep comfortably, and I did enjoy playing up at the net. I still find it easier to drop a ball short on a standard higher passing shot with more crisp and direct strings such as Tour Bite, however.
Serving was another of the better areas for the string. The pocketing felt great on flat serves and it felt like I was getting easier movement on slices thanks to it as well. I did had to adjust a bit on the kicker as I found that the trajectory I was getting became less consistent. The flat serve was my favourite, I felt no discomfort and could ramp up the speed comfortably.
Given the short time I had with it there is not much more I can say. I suppose it is a somewhat standard black gear shaped poly - it wouldn't be a string I would choose for myself or recommend given my experiences... If I had to give a mark it would be between 6 or 7 out of 10.
I've strung up Firewire and Strike Force Rip in the meantime. The former is smooth and easier to string than Tour Status IMO. I am looking forward to playing with that one. Strike Force Rip has one of the more obnoxious textures on a string I've seen in my time. It makes it a interesting performer - many poly qualities, except it leaves the stringbed looking like natural gut at low tensions after a few hits as the mains and crosses move between the grooves and peaks of the adjacent strings (annoying for sure, and not for those with OCD!). I do think it performs surprisingly well despite that annoyance.
