So the babolat excel 16 gauge strings (strung @59) i had on my aero pro broke today (after a week and half of play...was restrung last monday 10/6/08 ) and i was wondering if there were any similar strings that felt the same but lasted a bit longer? Basically ive only messed around with gamma and babolat strings and am up for suggestions but I did enjoy the babolat excel. gonna be stringing these around 55 because i wanna play around with a lower tennis...maybe even lower than that.

Sounds like you like the feel of a multi-filament string and want to stay away from the price tag of gut at about 3 times the price of Xcel.
One option is to increase the gauge and there are not many multi-filament string in 15 / 15L gauge besides Wilson NXT Max 15L that comes to mind. And the string a lings are a great idea.
Another option is a low price gut string like Titan 15 gauge. Or a half set of Titan 15 / 15L and Xcel as a hybrid. Or maybe a better Gut and Xcel as a hybrid with or with out string a lings.
Sound like you are close to finding something YOU really like. You are way ahead of a lot of people that are overwhelmed with all the stings out there searching for something everyone else likes.
