Suggestions for almost flat-footed, very narrow feet?

Hi. I have tried several shoes, but with all, this tendon on the bottom of my foot feels strained while I play, and my back heel constantly slips out. My feet are wide in the toe area and very narrow in the back (but I'd say they are narrow overall). I am almost flat-footed, as well. Do you have any suggestions for shoes that my feet would like? I was thinking about the "New Balance CT 802 W Men's Shoes B." B is narrow width. I actually tried them on, and they feel great, but perhaps a bit heavy. I'd like to know if I have more options. Thanks.

i was told my foot is one size wider than normal but i have found that the fila punto was a nice fit...they say its a narrow shoe but i liked its fit in the middle and heel...it did slip a little at first but that went away...it sounds though that you are actually considered narrow...not just narrow in the middle/heel like i think i am...good luck with your search...

I haven't used the 802s yet, though they'll probably be my next purchase. I've worn the 790 and 801 in that same line of shoes, and they are the best I've found - for me, of course.
I wouldn't worry about the weight. You'll likely get used to that quickly.

sounds good

sounds good...either way, the 802's are fairly cheap compared to everything else I've tried (under $60)

hopefully, I'll get used to the weight like you said

thanks for the input

peace

I've used New B's in the past with some success and our foot type sounds similar. Lately I've run several pairs of Prince sneaks with the NFS shape that seems to do better in terms of comfort in the toebox. The Viper 2 and 3 models that I've used were nice and comfortable for me, but might have been best suited for a standard or wide foot according to their write-up, so I'll try the T-10's next--listed as better for more narrow feet. If I need a change, I'll look over what NB has, but I may also check on the Barricades and a few others to see what's being made to handle our kind of feet.

The Nike Air Oscillate might be a good fit. It is a narrow fitting shoe with a low arch support. Expect some break-in. It fits high up the back of the heel which will help keep you locked in and the midfoot shank offers excellent support.

I'd second what Chris posted...

and add to the oscillate the adidas Feather. Great low to the ground, narrow fit shoe, the stability is outstanding - though I can never get the tongue to stay in place, and the durability on hard courts could be better.

Also the Breathe 3 (III) - good snug fit, just beware of the height and stay away if you have suspect ankles.

I have narrow feet, tried the Prince T10 based on the TW review, and had to eat the cash I spent on them - I found them way too wide at the ball of the foot and my foot sloshed around like it was in a barrel. No worries though :) Only way to find out what works is to buy and try when it comes to footwear, then stock up on what works...

Finally - look into an insole for those feet - I've settled on sof sole stable trac, there are lots out there for players with low arches/flat feet etc - aside from providing proper support, they snug up the fit of the shoe and are much better than the flat foam that comes in most shoes -- though TW doesn't carry a selection for some unknown reason...
