Superfeet green vs. orange

I currently use superfeet green in my Barricade V. I have just noticed that there is an orange one out which is costlier ($45 vs. $35). I read it is bulkier and especially thicker in the forefoot area.

anyone tried both?
is the orange better for shock absorption?
how is the arch for orange compared to green? could not tell from their website.

ps.. I did find a few threads on superfeet, but mostly on the green and not much on the orange

Sure,

The Green has a deeper heel cup and a higher arch support. The Orange ride 'higher' (due to a more shallow heel cup) and have a more mild arch support. The orange have been through several revisions - the latest having more cushion and softer material than the earlier versions.

If you're used to the green, I would stick with them. They have more support and provide a 'lower-to-ground' feel. If you find the arch a little high, the orange would be a good option.

I loved the green, then tried the orange.

I don't like the extra give under the ball of my foot for tennis, so the orange are now in my favorite general use shoes. I don't notice much difference in arch support between the two.

Thanks for the feedback , TenniseaWilliams & tarkowski :)

To confirm, for shock absoption and knee comfort, both green & orange are about the same? If so, I will stick with the green then.

Orange vs. Green review

I bought the orange last week. I have 2 barricade V's. I use Orange in one and Green in the other.

FOREFOOT: Orange has more cushioning. looks like an extra rubber pad under the normal material.

ARCH: Folks have indicated that green has higher arch, but I think the Arch is the same for both.

HEELCUP: heelcup design is different for each. green is flat. orange is deeper on the sides but same in the middle. Orange kinda forms an air cushion at the bottom

| GREEN. | ............. | ORANGE... |
---------- ............. |_---------_|

BREAK IN:
Orange was easier to break in and get used to.

COST:
Orange is $45 , green is $35.

SUPPORT:
support is great on both. Orange is more comfortable.

SIZING:
You may need to go 1/2 shoe size up with the Orange.
For rallying/serve practice/wall practice: I use Green in my BV size 10.5.
For matches: I use Orange + ankle guards in my BV size 11.

MY FEELINGS:
I prefer the orange for the comfort.
BUT, Orange rides a little higher and if your shoe has low/mid ankle support you may prefer the green.

I was just poking around the Superfeet website...thanks for the great comparison review. I need something for my Barricade Vs as well. I'm hoping I can fit the Orange in, but the forefoot is pretty snug with the stock insoles so I'm not very optimistic. Gander Mountain is the only place around here that carries them according to the site store finder...guess I'll just have to take my Barricades along to test before I buy.

+1 I use the orange for ballistecs and really like the cushion foot bed compared to the green. I had used the green for tennis and running for many years- but have now switched to the Orange. You can find some great deals online for these too. I don't find noticeable difference for arch support between the 2.

Have you considered the blue insoles? They're thinner and designed specifically for athletic footwear, but still offer much more support than stock insoles, albeit not as much as the green and orange models. I use the blue in my tennis and running shoes, green in my hiking boots.

I bought the orange tonight. I wanted arch support but really wanted all the forefoot cushioning I could get so once I saw the orange would fit I didn't really consider the green or blue. I was kind of surprised there was room for the orange with my thick foot; I was afraid I'd have to go for the blue. Now I just hope they last a good while...$50 at Gander Mountain.

They should last a while- I actually use them past what some would consider brok down- when u see the plastic start to turn white from stretching

ugh $50!! I just got a pair of Orange $38 shipped-

We're also bringing in Superfeet to Tennis Warehouse. We should have them available this week or early next week. To start off, we're carrying the blue and green insoles.
