Who shut down the spigot of elite tennis players from Sweden? For a twenty year period Sweden, propelled by tennis demi-God Bjorn Borg, went through a golden age unprecedented by such a small nation.

Can Sweden ever become a source of decent, if not great, tennis players again? And why have there never been any good female Swedes?

I think these things often get distorted in such small circles.

First of all, tennis is a niche sport. Secondly, men's singles is one part of it although it's the most popular.

So you have Borg, Wilander and Edberg.

Soderling was the next big one but his career was derailed by mono.

Switzerland has produced Hingis, Federer and now Wawrinka. See my point?
