Swiss great hopes to see future champions on Allée Roger Federer

The national centre for Swiss Tennis can now be found at “1 Allée Roger Federer”. On Thursday, the Swiss star returned to Biel, where he trained as a junior, to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony inaugurating the street.

“I am very moved,” said Federer, according to swissinfo.ch, before the 1500 people gathered for the event. “I hope that we will see future champions on the Allée Roger Federer.”

Federer, alongside Swiss Tennis president René Stammbach and Mayor Erich Fehr, also assisted with the ground-breaking for the extension of the Swiss Tennis training centre, to open in 2017.

This is not the first time a street has been named in his honour. In 2012, the city of Halle, in Germany, unveiled “Roger-Federer-Allee” in recognition of Federer’s success on the grass at the Gerry Weber Open.

LOL, now that's the second one. He already got a small alley behind the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle named after him (if only for the weekly duration of the tournament ;) ) a couple of years ago.

Still good for you Mr. Feds.

Our street has already been named in my step grand father's name who achieved nothing but money. He had started couple of Trusts to cheat the income tax department.

Tacky, adj: When a grown up person chooses to wear a shiny suit with bow-tie and Adidas Superstars.
:eek::oops::oops::oops::oops:
When grown man wears pink NIKE sneakers with pink shoelaces, I guess everything is ok. But nothing in tennis world will ever beat tacky adj: show yourself at Wimbledon with military jacket and golden purse.

There is no need to mention Djokovic here, but since you already done it like a real uninformed simpleton ,just ready to jump and mock him for whatever reason, there it is .

I wouldn´t jump Djokovic if my life depended on it :eek::eek::eek:

I'm a girl who doesn't like those girly things on guys, but I'm aware that every man can make mistake with his fashion choice.
Thus, I would blame Nike here not Federer:eek:
Take a good look at The Man With The Golden Purse. If that doesn´t make you laugh, you´re probably depressed :)

There is also Johnson street, named after the great Steve Johnson. Poor Djokovic.
I have to disappoint you, all you haters... Djokovic has an airplane in Air Serbia's fleet named after him and not one but 3 streets! One is in Zica suburb of Kraljevo, other one at cultural heritage village of Drvengrad and one in Belgrade zoo. The last one was named after his major donation to the Zoo upkeep foundation. The one in Zica was renamed by concensus and initiative of few thousand residents of that street.

Nadal has an asteroid named after him.

Whether it's because he's a "star" or because he's got a good chance of crashing and burning though, I don't know.
