Switching forehand grip from western to semi-western

As I get older and tennis elbow, many have suggested for me to switch to semi-western, rather than my current western forehand.
Anyone have to make this transition as well???
Let me know your thoughts.......

I am 43 and have used a extreme western grip since I was 11-12 years old. I have gradually started slightly shifting to a SW . Need slightly more finishing power against younger players

Same here too... Need more power with less exertion on my arm.
Are u glad u made the switch? Do you ever consider going back to western?
About how long did it take you to get comfortable?

Still in progress and I have not fully committed to it. Basically, I have slightly changed my grip towards a SW at the start of the point and go with whatever feels comfortable depending on the shot. I have only been doing it for about the last month or so after playing a 25 year former D-1 player which made me realize I needed more ammo against players like that.

I am 40 ... started to get T.E. with my fw ... switched to ME, than to SW ... like it now a lot more especially on the serve returns.
Lately though on Red Clay, on deep high balls I am toying with hitting those with my old fw ... it's amazing though how quickly
the body forgets the motion, and get is mixed up.

I made the switch from almost hawaiian, to SW.
Took me a year, glad I made the change.
I mostly play hard courts.
Allows me to finish sooner and hit through the court (whereas my extreme Western made me play a game of attrition).
I changed not due to age/injury, but due to getting bumped up to 4.5... where it wasn't enough to hit super spinny balls,.. short - which always got attacked.

Probably a good idea.
I still use a strong EASTERN grip on my FH.
