The new Vcore98 looks similar but with a bit more control. You might have to customize with a little lead on the Vcore98 to get the SW up near the Ezone98 tour's. I played the regular Ezone98 but customized it to higher SW similar to Ezone98 tour. I demo-ed the Vcore98 previous model (prior to 2023) and I liked the Vcore98 a lot.
Also, it's a bit of a stretch but the new ProStaff97 has a SW around 332 which is similar to the Ezone98 Tour. You might give it a demo too. The PS97 will likely have a bit more control. I ended up getting 2 PS97 V13 and customizing them up to around 331SW. I actually like the feel of the square beam pro staff more than the Ezone and Vcore.
Reason for swithcing? Too heavy? Too hard to maneuver? Too little control? Just bored? Can't find new frames to buy?I've been using Yonex Ezone 98 tour 2020 since they came out, is there any recommendation of racket that's similar to it? I strung them with Poly tour drive, Poly tour air crosses at 40/42lbs

There is also always the update, the Yonex Ezone 98 Tour 2022. Have you tried the extended versions of the Ezones or Vcores? These are also very fun if you want to stay Yonex.
natural answer is regular Ezone with tiny bit of weight in hoopLooking for a bit more maneuverable I suppose, just sometimes it's hard to swing? I do like the weight though
It'd be nice to, if it wasn't like $400Regna
Could try the new ezone tour?Demo regular ezone without customization probably won't work for you. It's way too light in stock form for you.
I get it, but new "regular" Yonex are about $330, if you can't find $70 for your main hobby, well, tennis is too expensive for you I would think. That's the cost of 3 movies now or 2 movies with a large coke and popcornIt'd be nice to, if it wasn't like $400

Partially correct about the Regna. While you kind of need to be a fanboy or a racket nerd to even know it exists, it's not just low level rec players. I have two friends that are rec players yet sponsored by Yonex, large social media followings and consistent results in open and 5.0 tennis and pickleball tournaments, so Yonex gives them gear to hashtag. They could of course choose any Yonex to use, both chose Regnas. Until.....Yonex made them switch to a more "pushable" racket that needed marketing, so they went with the vcore line. They are the highest level of rec player for sure. I agree though, there's no magic sauce in the Regna, just a little bit of good specs and some kind of setup that results in more ooomph than the weight and more of aplayers racket kind of vibe. It's not harder to use though, it's interchangeable with the Vc95.Buy a 2022 Ezone 98s and experiment with lead to make you own Lite Tour. You can always load it to Tour specs if you so desire. Every other racquet will be a compromise since you are used to an Ezone already. The 2022 is a huge upgrade. And this comes from a person who doesnt even like Yonex.
The Regna 98 is harder to use and once that "coolness factor" wears off it serves no purpose. Take a look around and see how many good players use it (or rather stick to it). It will be only mostly low rec level yonex fanbois that talk about it..... You can get the new Osaka Ezone 98 if you want a cooler Ezone 98.

I don't disagree with this. In the brief time I played with the Regna, it reminded me so much of the EZ98 + the VCPs put together, it actually drove me to go look for more EZ98s on the classifieds, vs. stocking on Regnas. Much easier to use and only slightly less feel, and more comfortable.Agreed but is harder to use than the Ezone 98. Its a good racquet but not brilliant by any means but there are many good racquets in this current world. Many many many racquets post 2010 are amazing as well so the pool to choose from in quite large.
I just got this, haven't strung it up yet though, what's the biggest difference between 2020 vs 2022?Buy a 2022 Ezone 98s and experiment with lead to make you own Lite Tour. What about solinco white out? Would that be an option?
the ezone tour is juiced up the regular length WO will be a board in comparison. but if you can wield the XTD itll be nice to compare albeit a bit different in its lengthTry the 18x20 patterns of both regular length and the XTD. I think the regular length will be more maneuverable with slightly less power. The XTD should play closely to the Ezone 98 Tour with similar power, spin but with extra precision.
Or, Babolat Pure Strike Tour & Blade Pro.
