Switching from Pure storm tour

I’m looking to move on from my pure storm tour for the main reason that I can’t find them in the market anymore. Any suggestions on what is most similar?

Not much really. The PS 98 can be weighed up but the feel and comfort are totally different. The new clash 98 has 8 mains in the throat and may be something to demo when it is out. The Ezone 98 can also be weighed up but will feel different and much more crisp. You can also try the Prokennex Ki Q+ tour pro 98 315g. I don’t know if it will have the dictating capability of the Pure Storm tour though. Also the VCORE Pro 97 330g is a good stick and will have elements of that precision, big heavy ball and comfort you’re used to

Thanks I’ll try those out. It’s really the feel that I’m looking for. I tried the angell tc97 but there was something missing, just can’t put my finger on it, but it was closest so far.

TC97 has more head flex and doesn’t have level of precision of the PS Tour. None of the Angell have 8 mains in the throat unless you go to a full out 18x20 pattern which is again pretty different then PS Tour

I would say stick with the frames you like and try to get replacement grommets.

Besides that, maybe the Clash or one of the Phantoms may give you that buttery flex.

Alright thanks a lot. I’ll wait for the clash 98 to be released and demo them all at once. I had tried the vcore 97 310g which was honestly great, but not good enough.

I guess nothing ever compares to your most used frame or in my case the only frame I’ve used in my 10 years of playing

I have 2 Pure Storm GT that I will be listing. Got them new about 7 months ago. Used as backups only (actually didn’t use them hardly at all as feet have betrayed me and I will be selling most of my sticks). I modded one which I am keeping with some lead and it’s great. They are both L2. Have extra grommets as well. Let me know if interested.

A friend of mine switched to the VCORE SV 98 + after using the Pure Storm Tour + for 10 years (he used them in high school & college). I had to add some weight to the handle and a few grams at 3 & 9 to balance it out (he gave me one of his PS Tours to match it to), but he’s 2 years into the switch and hasn't looked back.

I'm an old Pure Control + 'Swirly' user, and didn't care for the SV 98 +, but am 'all in' on the latest iteration (VCORE 98 +), which is slightly less stiff.

I used the PST in the past and later used Pure Control with leather, lead and silicone to make same specs as PST. Now, the best you can do is to buy Pure Strike VS (not Pure strike VS Tour) and customize them to same specs as PST. The PSVS tour is a bit to harsh and the regular PSVS plays really well with a light modification. Specially the silicone in the handle makes it softer in the feel.

OP...I was in the same boat a year or so ago. I tried several rackets after the PST (including several of the ones listed above and others) but nothing felt as good in my hand. Some rackets were better on serve, some were more powerful, some were more control oriented, but none of them could do it all like the PST did/does. As odd as it sounds...the racket that I committed to after the PST was the Head GXT Prestige Pro. I really like that racket and play well with it but the feel of that frame was not quite as good as the PST and the grip shape always felt odd. Just this past week I strung up my PST's and wondered why I ever put them down. Get some new grommets and keep rocking the PST!

A quick check of e bay shows quite a few of these rackets available if you really want to stay with them.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I’m gonna follow the main opinion and stick to my PSTs.

I might get a Vcore pro 97 (310 or 330) to tag along for days I need a change of pace. Can’t decide which would work better, 310 is easier to customize to similar specs

I agree, if you like it keep going with it.
If you decide to do some demos, try out a raquet or two from the Prince range.

Give the Diadem Elevate Tour a look. I haven't played with the Pure Storms, but the specs are pretty similar I think. Really enjoying mine so far.

I’ve taken a look at the textreme tour 95 and phantom pro 100. The tt95 was pretty good, but it’s the issue when I compare to the pst it feels off.

I’ll give the Diadem a look, specs look pretty good.

My current demo list from tw is vcore pro 97 and the phantom pro 93p
