Hello my friends,

I am wheelin to switch racquets at the moment. I still use my Wilson Hyper Carbon Pro Staff 5.0 (16x20), which is excellent.
In fact, i am starting to feel it a bit heavy now that I am nearly 36 yo.
I made up my mind and will acquire a new tf 40 305g, but my main concern is about the string pattern...
Can I compensate the lack of control on the 16x19 with an oriented control string ??
Or is it better to use a power string on a 18x20 string pattern?
Which one should believe to be a better choice?
Let me know what you guys think...

thank youu

I play the TF 40 16x19 and use TF Ice Code. I don’t have control issues at all. Strike the ball well and you’ll be fine.

I think control will be fine as long as you’ve got good technique and you don’t make too drastic of a switch in specs. You may wanna go for the TF40 315 (16x19) instead of the 305 considering it’ll be closer to your HPS 5.0’s weight & balance (still a lot lighter tho); it’s an easier transition. The 16x19 is tight and it’s softer than the HPS so as long as you go up maybe 2-3lb in string tension it should be good.
