Switching to POG 107

Sooo. My friend has inherited me with a few of Prince Classic Graphite 107 ( not sure the difference between that and the POG ). I'm used to stringing my racquet which is the Pro staff 97 and Diadem Elevate Tour at 45/47 lbs what should I string this at? Obviously higher? Or am I thinking too much?

I string my with 16ga poly at about 53lbs. It gives me a good balance of power and control. I think that it would be a good place to start for you.

I used the POG 107 as my main stick last year.

For full poly I strung at 51 lbs (usually FB Alu Power)
GUt/Poly 55 mains/50 crosses
Full syn gut 56 lbs

For a standard sized racquet (~98) I would string polys in low 40s

some people got confused because on the old POGs there is a advice from Prince to string their racquets much too high. I think this was in the beginning when there werent much oversized racquets around and poly was not even around. so with gut or sgut/nylon you could string it indeed higher because these are soft strings but poly is quite different.

although not a POG 107, i have strung up a couple of times on a TW reissued Donnay Pro One OS with Pro's Pro Syn gut 1.30 mains @ 59 and Red Devil 1.19 crosses @ 52 - it was rather nice and still plush. enjoyed that...
i also strung up another one with fullbed of Pro's Pro syn gut 1.30 @ 59/59 - it was also nice and comfy.
now they both have the same syn gut @ 59/59 - it was almost 2 years ago though.

I got a few POGOS and PCG107. It was my main racquet until a few months ago, but I switched to Head Gravity Pro.

If you're stringing with synthetic gut and have sound strokes, definitely go over 60lbs. With poly/multi hybrid, I never went under 56lbs for the poly and I don't think I'd want to go under 55-56 for full poly.

Contrary to "popular belief" the sweetspot on these racquets is not huge. I felt this was really improved with lead at 3/9 o'clock. Still at the same swingweight/twistweight the Gravity Pro was more stable.

Playing with these racquets is a nostalgia thing for me, but I finally came to accept that there's better stuff out there. Still a great racquet :)

Quick update. I strung it at 51 lbs with a thicker poly 15l. About to find out tomorrow how it feels.

Is the gravity similar feel to it?

Ok so played with it at 50 lbs and I didn't like it at all :( I feel the racket is stiff and no pop (sound) at all. Would it be because I strung it too low?

Can't help there, I never strung poly that low on that racquet. And never played with 15L poly.

But the racquet is stiff and it's foam filled with silicone in the handle.

I strung gut/poly at 60/55 in my POG 107 and it plays great.

Poly at 50lbs seems awfully low. That would be like putting poly at 40 in a prostaff 97.

I feel the racket is stiff and no pop (sound) at all.

I'm not sure how to help you with this. These characteristics are not what people typically use strings for. Strings provide power, spin and control in various measures. If you had described your experience in these terms rather than feel and acoustics, it might be easier to advise you.

Here's my generic advice:
Too much power, not enough control: Thicker gauge, higher tension or use a stiffer polyester
Too much control, not enough power: Thinner gauge, lower tension or use a multi or gut
Not enough spin: thinner gauge, shaped or textured strings, slippery cross strings, or get better

.
Same version like OP's.
M: PROS PRO GUTEX ULTRA 1.30 / 57.5 lbs (26 kg)
C: SIGNUM PRO X-PERIENCE 1.24 / 53 lbs (24 kg)
Plays fine!
