Still using the 315 but have been flirting with other frames of late. Problem is everything is now judged against the tfight and nothing has stacked up yet. Very addicting plush feel that is not easy to replicate.

Yah I am interested in that too. There was so much buzz for a few months that it was basically like a pro stock frame. I have a couple of pt57a and wouldn't mind putting a few of these in the closet so that when my current frames die out I can simply get the tecs out since I know my feelings on the 57a and would like to avoid the high cost of purchasing more when these ones are done.

I am currently steaming, but my tfight is in the bag. It does indeed have a classic feel, but I believe it plays a lot better in the 345 gram range opposed to the 330 range I have it in now.
FYI 4 grams of lead at 12 will raise the SW to 325

I'm still playing with the 16 mains version with 5 grams at noon. Like you, I've hit with a few other frames but nothing I've tried comes close to matching the feel of this racquet. I pulled out my old IG Prestige Mid a few days ago just for fun and put it back in the bag after about 5 minutes.

Yes a few guys have. Check the Tfight 315 thread which is buried a few pages back. Its got a lot of good info.
It is the closest thing to a 57a, but the feel is a little more rubbery. Besides that, it is very very close.

Still using, 16x19. Have Prestige Pro and PSTGT but they just don't feel as good.
Have bought lead, but haven't been in a hurry to try it.
I'm spending the time now to get to know it -- to hit with consistency and placement, rather than power-oriented aggressiveness. I'll get the lead on once I get to the point where I'm ready to use power again.

Use my 16m's every time out. Both have 4g of lead at noon and are within 1g of each other. Best feel of anything I've used and has awesome control. The lead really wakes it up too.

I bought a 16m from the TW used section and thought that it was worth doing. I had a 320 in my bag but never quite clicked as with it.
While I have never hit a PT57a, with a little lead at 10 & 2, this does play like a more forgiving and slightly more powerful MG/IG prestige pro with a touch more flex. It's currently battling for top place against my PST, Donnay P1, Tour 97 and Q295 tour.
Have you tried the 315 with some lead? I had both for a few months as well. Adding lead solved that issue for me.
As for the thread question, I am still rocking the TFight 315 Ltd 16 Main version. I sold off all my other frames except the Blade Team which is for my wife.

Can you guys describe the mods (lead, silicone, etc.) and strings (type and tension) you guys added on your 315s? 18M or 16M?
The reason I ask is because I have been tinkering with mine (18M) since November with varying degrees of success. I have yet to reach a setup that really wows me. Overall though, I find the frame very plush and comfortable though.
My starting specs for the unstrung frames (with leather grip and plastic wrap on handle) when I ordered them from TW were: 320 grams, 9.5 HL, 285 SW, 63 RA.
I removed the leather grip and added a synthetic one to save some weight. I added lead at 12 o'clock under the bumper and at the top of the grip (7" from the bottom of the racquet).
Currently, strung with 16L Tour Bite and with an overgrip my racquets are 347 grams, 4 HL, and I estimate the SW to be 345 and the strung flex to be 59-60.
Since moving to this setup my playing arm/shoulder/wrist have been pain-free. Occasionally I will get a nasty shock in my left wrist when I mishit my two-handed backhand (I am a righty). I think that is inevitable though.

Why do everybody never stop tinkering with 315 Ltds? It bothers me every time I read about it. And then everybody go on to admit rather apologetically, "but it's very plush and comfortable"

It's a plush racquet. Try it. It's tecnifibres pro stock racquet. Verdasco used it for years.
I nailed my optimal setup pretty fast - 4-5 grams at 12 and done.
I have gone back to 330 weighted sticks and was able to try and drop the tfight down to match. Unfortunately it just does not play the same at this weight - it really is best as a 12 ounce racquet for me.
But I used the same setup on mine for 7 months. no real tinkering needed.

I love the feel of the racquet compared to the stiff(er) retail frames I have used over the years. I find a stiffer string like Tour Bite compliments the 315's flex well.
I have never played with a PT 630/57A so I cannot compare, but I imagine the 315 is more similar to it than the stiff(er) retail frames available today.
I originally had 12 grams of lead ranging from 10-2 under the bumper. No counterweighting. Static weight approximately 345 grams with an overgrip. Approximately 1.5 HL. The racquet was a beast, but after an hour of intense play was I gassed. Completely. I could barely hit a forehand. Backhand and serve held up okay.
I am keeping the static weight the same (345 grams) but messing around with different weight distributions and counterweighting. Currently, 6 grams at 12 under the bumper and 6 grams 7" up from the bottom of the handle. Approximately 4 HL.
Feels good so far. If anything I am just curious what other people are doing/have experienced.

2g at 10 and 2g at 2 for a total of 4g is what I have gone with. More lead could work a little better, but then the sw would be getting too high for my taste. Currently it feels like high 320s and 330g with a Gamma hi tech grip replacing the leather stock grip.
As for string, I have Tour Bite 19 @ 48/46 lbs and that works fairly well as proposed above, but possibly could go down another 2 lbs the next time.

Mine have 4-5 grams of lead from about 10 to 2 o'clock. I have three and I had to add a little more lead at six o'clock on one to match it up with the other two.
I can't remember the exact numbers, they are posted somewhere in the 315 thread, but mine are around 12 oz, 6 pts HL and 330-335 SW, I think.
Like PP, I hit my setup pretty quick, so I haven't messed with them much. I actually liked it in stock form, I just think it is better with lead.

Right, so you stopped tinkering but went back to 57's
Actually it was more of me getting my lazy butt back into shape. Wanted more pop to end points because I was slow. Dropped 15 lbs and the wanted the control of the 57 because the power came easier and I could stay in rallies longer. But you are correct, I was tinkering with static weight and balance, just not with my racquets...

I compared my TF315 ltd with my Head IG Prestige MP and I cannot see any difference in size. So I also assume the head size is more like a 95 sq. inch.

Can anyone compare the 16x19 models of the Tfight 315 and the Tfight 320? Any major differences? 5 grams isnt much diff in weight.

Flex is probably the biggest difference. I hit the entire TFight line and the 315 just has a different feel from the rest of the line

I think they have better feel.
This what I learned about playing with the 315 the majority of 2013 -
The racquet needs lead at 12 4-5 grams and will be playable for the majority of players this way.
The racquet needs to weigh 12 ounces. Due to it's low power and small sweetspot, it simply does not have a lot of power if you remove the leather grip and drop the weight to 330 - even if you keep the lead at 12.
If you like racquets like the classic dunlops and head sticks (small sweetspot, flex, control) then you will almost certainly like this racquet.
If you are looking to drop weight and go from 355/345 down to 330ish like I have been doing - it is not going to play the same and you will probably be working harder than you'd like.
I personally am keeping mine and putting the leather grip back on. I could crave a players racquet again sometime, and this IMO, is the best option out there.

I believe it has more power than the Dunlop if I remember correctly. I find it to be more powerful than a classic head racquet, but still very much much a control frame.

If it's possible to like a racquet just by looking at the specs, then I am in love. Seems like a great customization platform. Plus already has a nice leather grip, silicone in the handle... yer halfway home already. The real kicker for me is it's available in two string patterns. 16x19 PT57a's are fairly rare. They do pop up for sale once every blue moon, but they go for $600 each or thereabouts.

I tried the TF315 Ltd 18x20 but I think it is too muted to my taste.
Though it is a comfortable and vibration free frame I miss some of that crisp connected feel of my Head IG Prestige MP.
I experienced the same with Pro Kennex Redondo MP that has a low 57 RA flex as well. I hardly felt the ball when I hit into the sweet area with this racquet. Even without a dampener.
I guess I prefer a bit stiffer frames with a 60-63 RA flex that have a more connected and crisper feel.

Solinco Tour Bite 19.
I use the 16L, non-soft version. The spin and tension maintenance are great. They also never break...must be the dense string pattern because in my Aerogel 4D 200 Tours (16x19) I was breaking strings weekly.
Do you notice a big difference in terms of spin, tension maintenance, and durability with the 19 gauge? Have you tried other gauges of Tour Bite (non-soft)?

I hit both back to back for a few sessions and flex is definitely the largest difference. With the 320, the ball tends to explode off the string bed. The sweet spot is also larger and the power and spin is far greater.
At the end of the day I went with the 315, due to the flex and feel. Lead tape has bridged the gap on stability and lower tension has almost brought the power level to that of the 320. TB19 has helped increased the level of spin.
I agree. I find both to be great frames, but like you, the plush feel was the deciding factor.
The 320 is more powerful in stock form, but some lead at 12 o'clock on the 315 can bring it up to the 320's level.
Other than the obvious, the 315 being softer, the biggest difference to me was that I felt the 320 was spinnier while the 315 provided better control.
With the added lead, my 315 specs are about the same as the 320. That setup makes them perform very similar - the 315 just feels better.
I was actually in the process of switching to the 320 when I tried the 315 on a whim and ended up loving it.
