T Fight 315?

Unless one is just driven to explore I wouldn't. Why take the pallet of to see codes you can't change them. If you want to increase or decrease the pallet size then yes.

I get that. I just thought he was showing the pallet code or wanted to take it further.

Agree.
I just replaced the cap to add a trapdoor.
To replace the staples, just drilled a 1/16th sized hole and hammered them in. Job looks clean and I'm happy.
Too late now but when I remove I tap a small common screwdriver under the butt cap into the staple. Once it's raised up a little they're easy to pull out.

Recently got the T-Fight ltd 18M, and I just noticed that it has the 16M PJ, as it can be seen on the pictures. Any idea what could the racket be? The store owner I got it from said it was Aljaž Bedene's old racquet (it came new btw, packed just like my previous ltd 16M), but I thought he just meant that he used/endorsed this racket. Could it actually be a batch made for him?

Looks like it could well be a pro stock. Things like different string pattern to that printed on throat are a dead give away but I say that subject to what has been observed earlier about paint job issues with Tecnifibre. However, the pallet also looks custom and not the TK82 pallets as shown in one of the pics above. My bet is that it is a pro stock.

Did you end up getting an LTD for yourself @Irvin ?
Got one (16M) and after weighting it up I liked it so much I got another coming Tuesday. The 315 limiteds with a leather grip are very similar to the 320s I'm playing with now (only the 315s are lighter and lower SW) and I have two guys wanting the 320s. Problem is they both want both rackets, I should have got 4. LOL

I have found the best way to remove staples is to sharpen a pair of snipe nose pliers. worth a try :)

They are all pro stock really. The tec 315 ld is the PT965, which is Tec's pro stock frame.

How did you set it up in the end. I've got 2 and i'm still struggling to find the right set up. Prob doesn't help that I'm switching from one extreme to the other (been using PD and APD last couple years)

This was the week to get more of them @Irvin :) I got 3 more 16m's and am contemplating on getting a couple more 18's. Total Tec count is 11, with a stash of bumpers and grommets. I plan on using them until I am your age!!!
Furgurgle, where did you add weight? IMO, it will be an adjustment period, but it will be worth the effort. I added 1/4 in long strips of lead tape, the entire length of the bumperguard on both sides of the grommets. Beast mode. How do you like the feel of the Tecs compared to your other frames?

I have not set them both up yet. I put 8 g of lead in the first one at 12. I had a SW of 317 before lead and 343 after but I think that's a bit high for me. I'll probably play around with them then because I will have 2 now until I find what I want. Then remove grommets and grip to put lead underneath

I hope you meant 1/4" wide. LOL was that on the 16M or 18M? 18M bumper has an extra piece at 3&9. Still too much lead for me but I'm old! LOL

16 main. Yes, 1/4 in wide lead tape :) On the 18m, I didn't add it under the extra piece. 345 grams strung seems to be the heaviest I am comfortable with at this time. I was looking at the Dynacores, but I was afraid I would like them too :)

How much weight I can handle depends a lot on the balance. 345 g (12 g of lead) in a 315 limited at 12 is a bit too much but in handle you still need more mass in the head. Many of the old wooden rackets were up over 400 g and not too many had problems with them.

315 Dynacore is a great stick. If I were going to play with it I would add mass in the handle using blutac, plumbers putty, or silicone on the inside. Then adjust the SW using lead tape at 12 and / or 6 o'clock.

EDIT: the T-Flash 315 Dynacore is stiffer and has a larger head than the T-Fight 315 Dynacore I prefer the T-Fight.

The stiffness of the Dynacore line is what held me back from trying it. Unfortunately, it seems to be the what manufacturers are producing more of and that's why I started the Tec LTD army I have. Prince's Textreme line is my limit when it comes to stiffness, and I am glad I discovered this thread/frame when I did. I hope that in the future, Tecnifibre will continue to make low flex frames.

Hi, where do you found this racquets???? I don't found any of the 16M
Thankss

I tried a set of TK82S pallets on one of my 315 LTD's just to see if I like the feel better. The problem is the pallets don't fit together completely. They leave a gap along bevels 1 and 5 which makes the grip feel wider. Anyway I didn't like the 82S. When I replaced with new TK82 pallets they had the same problem. The original pallets didn't have this gap.
Does anybody know why this is?

Yes, for some reason the original pallets have the TK82 code on them but they are not TK82. The pallets are actually TK76, which is what you would find on the classics Heads and also the PT57 pro stocks I believe.

I have replaced the pallets on my 315ltds but I has to sand down the inside of the pallets so they fit properly. I used something like this http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51kmT8VKx7L._SY355_.jpg as I had quite a few to sand.

I have TK82S on mine now, you probably didn't like them because the improper fit makes the handle feel very square. Worth trying again after the sanding.

I met with a tennis guru who recognised the grey pallets and also had a set of TK76 to compare them with.

Here's a crude comparison of the different pallets

Is206 thanks for explaining. Anybody know where I can get TK76 in 4 3/8?

AFAIK, you will only be able to buy TK82/S from stores these days. One easy option would be to buy some older, used Head rackets (90ies) in good condition and remove and -use the pallets. I've done this multiple times, and sometimes, the costs for a set of pallets obtained this way are lower than those for buying a new set of TK82s (obviously depending on if you can get a lucky deal, but some searching and some patience is all you really need).

Hit the thrift shops! There is always old school frames, and the pallets are usually always in great condition (in my area at least). Thank you for posting that!! I was about to order 13 sets of TK82s :) I will just suck it up and play with whats on them. The original pallets aren't bad once you get used to them. (sanding is not one of my best skill sets) :(

Yeah I didn't like TK82 starting out but now it feels best to me. Too bad I damaged the original taking it off to test out the 82S. Live and learn.

For me the pallets on the Tec 315 are wider across bevels 3 to 7 than the TK82 I have on my radical. So those on the Tec are a little squarer. Not sure if anyone else has had that experience.

Is it just me or does the picture show the 76 pallet has longer diagonal bevels and is slightly on the rectangular side? I have 82S on my remaining 16M and I never thought it was an incorrect fit.... Earlier in this thread @ls206 I recall you posted a picture of your TK82S replacement, does the gap between the plastic actually come together after you did your sanding operation? Not that I'd ever notice when playing

So many ppl on here with sensitive hands ;)
I feel like a butcher around here 'cos I can go from Head to Prince to Wilson to Yonex to you-name-it without bothering at all. Only gripe I've had were Wilson's butt caps because they feel very thick at the bottom.

That's what I love about Wilson actually… Order a grip size down and they feel perfect down there :)

No, the only difference is the depth of extrusion. That was an image I quickly threw together, I've looked at taking a photo but the difference is literally a millimetre or two and barely noticeable.

Yep - the pallets now sit flush together. The 82s felt super square with the gap between them and a size bigger.

Someone is selling these. I was referring to the similarities of the shape and grommet of the 315 Ltd. Wondering if the "Dunlops" are just paint jobs.

Well damn you for keeping that fact to yourself lol

I do think that Verdasco was using PJs while under contract with Dunlop.

Have any of the side of the frame? Thats the secret. You want to see the string length on the main tie off. A poster ( @gavna ) here had pics of verdascos frames being strung up and the tell tale sign was the length of that main. That is how I knew it was the pt965.

I like the Tecs better than my MG Rad Mp. I have capped it and recently uncapped the microgel and for some reason, I never get that "I LOVE this frame!!" feeling with it :( It's not due to lack of effort!! I have strung it up with at least 5 different setups, and weighted it up a million different ways. I am going to try one more thing with it, and if I don't like it...I am setting it on fire!! I have probably spent twice the cost of it in string setups, grommets, leather and synthetic grips, head finest calfskin now, and I just can't seem to unlock the magic. I can hit around with it fine, I guess it just isn't what I wanted it to be. The Tecs have been awesome since day 1. I haven't found a setup I don't like. I also LOVE the feel :) but I do like the 16 main a little better than the 18 main. I am probably not the best person to compare two 18x20's, as I almost always prefer 16x19. But I would give the edge to the Tec on every single category up to and including paintjob (I should paint my MG Rad Mp black, and write Prince on it...maybe I would like it more. lol)
Is there something specific you would like to know?
Hey John, what's your current spec of your 315 Ltd. 16Ms?

345 grams of pure awesome :) (I actually added weight to the handle as well, I will check the balance when I get home from work) I have basically worked and fallen asleep, and forgot about the balance. I will check today. But I added lead along the entire length of the bumperguard, on both sides of the grommets. It was 1/4 in lead.
