T Fight 315?

How long did that take? Looks awesome. Did you completely remove old paint? Or just paint over it? Are the specs altered?
Thanks! Repainted over it. I can peel the paint and it'll be back to the same frame. The paint added 1.7g. Didn't check the balance. Took less than 10 minutes to paint. 1 hour to dry. Custom art took maybe 30 minutes or so.

Of the first two 315s i bought, one was about 18gms heavier than the other. Dunno if its poor quality control or whatever but the heavier of the two 315ltd is pretty much the only racquet i keep coming back to. Its stable against big hitters and on volleys and returns and is like a whip it feels so light to me.

Wish i could make all the others exactly like it.

Removed lead from 12 'Oclock under grommets, strung up again, and hit for a few minutes with my 315 Limited. Just wanted to try different weight variations than my usual. All I can say is what a difference a few grams makes (if applied at the right place). Stock with no weight at 12 and the stick felt anemic and low low power. Add 3 grams to 12 and it transforms. Same comfort and control.

The feeling I get is that its inherently a very stable frame. Just needs very little lead to bring it to life, excellent engineering for the price.

Since the reviews indicate that the original 315 LTD fits better for my needs, I decided to just give 1 of 11 a new look.

Did you plastidip spray your racquet?

Overall it's a great racquet. I have one of the 2013 ones, and sometimes I pull it out of my bag for fun. I usually use a PS 97 RFA, which has more free power and it's way more stable, offering a bigger sweetspot and a wider string spacing. Too bad it's much heavier, I miss how whippy and flexy the Ltd 16M feels.

Need some help regarding switching pallets. I searched but can’t seem to find the answer.

I have a 315 LTD grip 3 and want a size 4 in the TK82S shape. Bought the new pallet and when on the hairpin the two pieces don’t join. End up with a massive feeling grip that’s too round.

Any tips on which pallet to buy? I’m thinking of trying a new TK82 in 3 and with the gap maybe it will end up close to the shape I’m looking for.

Would appreciate any insight and advice. Thanks!

maybe something was wrong with tne pallets you bought?

I had grip 3 on my tec, thought i liked the tk82s shape better for my 1hbh but in grip 4, poor coach changed it for me, realized the tk82s is crap for serve and volleys, so had long suffering coach change it back to tk82 but in grip 4, and its perfect.

I think someone may have mentioned sanding the inside of the pallet a little and then it fits better... but really not sure... try and go through all the pages on this thread, I'm sure it's mentioned here somewhere...

Yes, for some reason the original pallets have the TK82 code on them but they are not TK82. The pallets are actually TK76, which is what you would find on the classics Heads and also the PT57 pro stocks I believe.

I was just wondering what is this TK76 engram on my Ti.Radical MP pallets...

TW sells grip pallets? I just realized you're probably in Australia so maybe the Aussie stores has it, but not US.

Well there you go, you're right, can't find it on the TW site.
They are, as you say, on their Australian site in the racquet accessories section, I have changed the buttcaps to the trapdoor head type on my tecs as well, just in case I want to stuff my meldonium stash in there

Had my first hit with my 315 Limited (2013) 16M... I'm not sure what was going on but some balls were flying very high and loopy, while others were diving halfway down (or lower) into the net. It was very bizarre...

The racquet has been modified with weight in the head and handle, and while the ball felt really nice when struck, I was really struggling and didn't know where the ball was going to go... Was really looking forward to playing with it, but had to change to a different racquet during the warm-up. Once I changed all the balls flew to where I intended, control was reinstated, and my game went back to normal. The racquet I changed to I have never played with before, so it's not like I went back to "old faithful"... In fact, in the following match, I used another racquet that I never played with before and again no troubles...

Now, the racquet was already strung when I bought it off that site... so possibly new strings may solve the problem... However, what else could it be...?

After all the positive things I have read, I was really puzzled and a bit disappointed... help please...

Have others had this problem?

I am certain it’s your strings. The racquet is Excalibur, the Unicorn, the Holy Grail. If I were u, I’d cut out those strings, restring with something like Solinco Hyper-G, Revolution or TF Black code 4s (54m/51x). Weigh it and get an idea of how much weigh has been added and also get a balance on it - I keep mine at 8pts head light (1”) with the extra weight at 12 o’clock (3g) 3&9 o’clock (2 g each) and grip (7g). The racquet is butter. You’ll love it!!

Thanks for that @Razrfish, that was my thinking... However, as I also have the 18M (yet to be strung for its maiden voyage), I wasn't sure whether to invest the funds into finding out or just go straight to the 18M and never look back. I think due to the great things I have read I owe it to the 16M to at least try... right?

My racquet has weight from 2-4 o'clock, 8-10 o'clock (approximately) and some at 12 o'clock. However, it has quite a bit of weight on the handle (maybe 20g). The static weight total is about 370g...

I have both, 3x 16m’s and 2x 18m’s but have melded better with the 16m personally. I like the spin and higher launch angle.

That’s a lot of weight. Right up there with my previous fav stick the RF97a. My TF 315 sticks are right at 355-356g total weight with over grip and rubber band for dampening.

I bought these Twaron grips hoping that if I put them on the handles of other racquets, they would get that magic dampened feel. Long story short, as they are full grips, the entire thing weighs about 80g or something. I tried using them just at the bottom (where the hand goes), but then you get this weird bump and it feels strange. On the 315 Limited 16M, I tried putting it on the larger flat bevels (bevels 3 and 7 - like they are on some of the old heads). But even so, they are still 20g or so... don't know what to do with them... got excited and bought 10...

Might just have to take them off and apply some tungsten tape... there is no problem with swinging the racquet or anything (in fact it's probably majorly HL)... just may be a good idea to lower the overall weight...

I had the 18m for a few years and loved them but my problem was I couldn't customize it to the way I wanted without polarizing the hell out of the racquet. I would recommend stripping the weight back to stock and playing with it. It was a dream stock but in the end I needed more weight. I stripped the weights on my two sticks and gifted them to a friend who was really getting into tennis. He loves them.

I second the Hyper G and the Black Code, I've tried both in my 16M's and they both work great! I still need to add weight to mine, but I've been playing it stock for a few months now and still love it!

Thanks for that @mavsman149 and @Razrfish ... might have to try those strings... the Black Code I don't have, so it might need to wait... I have sooo many different strings that I think it's going to take me yrs to use them up (or many months of very intense tennis play - which probably won't happen due to time constraints, recovery from injuries and work). I literally have a medium sized suitcase full of strings... it's absolutely ridiculous (on some level)...

Have you (@mavsman149 and @Razrfish ), or anyone else for that matter, tried Black Code 4S? If so, what are the thoughts and experiences with that one...

Interestingly - was planning to string up a 315 Limited with Black Code 4S next week. That said, i have tried the string in a number of racquets and have really enjoyed it. While I do not have a huge library of polys that i have tried, i have tried a number of the more popular ones (Hyper G, Cyclone, Tour Bite, Pro Line II). Of those mentioned, my favorites are Hyper G and Black Code - great spin, soft feel, durability is decent. i typically will string @50lbs.

I miss the tinkering of the 315 Limited. I’m almost sad now that I’ve landed on the Prince TT 100P with a Hyper G/Gosen OGSM hybrid. Although, I do have a reel of Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable laying around. Might have to start tinkering again. You know, just in case there is something better.[emoji6]

I haven't tried the Black Code 4S, I have one each strung with Black Code 17, Kirshbaum Super Smash and Hyper G. I have usually gone with Hybrids in the past so I was testing full poly to see what I like best. I can't decide between the Black Code and the Hyper G so far.

The TW testers seemed to have liked the Black Code 4S even more than Black Code... and it seems to have a high spin potential and pocket the ball very well, according to them... I tried Super Smash (Honey) in my DR98 and liked it very much. So many strings, so little time...

I got one of these 315 Ltd's to see what all the hype was about and was totally disappointed. I have a PT 280, Radical 260, and the 315's are nowhere near the level of those racquets. People saying it's as good or even better than those classic Head racquets is total bs. The PT280 and radical have that awesome plush feel but the 315's are really harsh and have a weird flex. It's like the throat has this plasticy bendy feel but then the head is stiff as hell. I also have the Wilson Ultra Tour and that racquet is actually very close to those classic Head's.

Put lead on the Ltd. They are not made to be played in stock form whatsoever, I added around 15 grams and brought it up to radical twin tube spec and I almost can’t tell the difference between the Head frame and the Tecnifibre

Without adding weight, it might be meh~~~ but with weight. WOW hahahaha
My set up was 4-5g at 12 and one overgrip. That’s it.

BTW. Hopefully it’s 2013 version instead of current one which might be different.

Lead is critical for the Tec 315 LTD to be playable. I removed the leather grip and put 2g at 9:00 and 2g at 3:00 and it plays so much better. I've also found that I prefer it strung with a multi rather than poly. Currently using velocity, but have also enjoyed FXP in this racquet. Powerful, very stable and its makes that solid "oomph" when striking the ball. A hitting partner plays with a flexpoint Prestige and really like the Tec 315. Felt it was a lot more powerful and solid.

Of course I used lead tape but it still doesn't change the way it feels. I put 5 grams at 12 o'clock which is 10 inch strips on both sides and it makes it play well but the feel is still harsh compared to my PT57A's.

counterbalance, also the frame reacts much better when you hit flatter as it’s a clone of the head prestige and those racquets are meant for slightly flatter and longer stroke styles. I didn’t like it very much, tweaked my stroke style and now I can’t get enough of the feel of hitting the sweetspot every time

I prefer an even balance and it's how I setup my PT57's and Ultra Tour and they play nice and feel great. This 315 still feels like crap. I'm a 4.5-5.0 and play with an ex pro and college players so know what I'm doing.

I'm not saying you don't know what you are doing I'm saying that your stroke style whatever it may be is not accustomed to the frame, I'm also around 4.0-4.5 range and I love the frame. Are you playing with the 2013 or the new one that just came out? Because the new one has dynacore and doesn't resemble the feel of the first 2013 model that was just pure graphite, it also had a Head grip shape and stock leather grip, a prestige clone like I said before.

I have the 2013 version and from what I'm reading the new version is even stiffer. My style is heavy spin on all my shots and have no problem creating spin from 18x20 patterns. Have you hit with the PT57A and Ultra Tour? I'm all about plush feel and control now.

yea! both actually, and really liked them both. I usually hit with quite a bit of spin and tried to hit that way with the LTD, felt insanely unstable and like I couldn't hit the sweet spot for the first 6 months of using it, now I began hitting slightly flatter and consequently hitting the middle of the strings much more consistently as I have less of an up and down windshield wiper motion now.

I have hit with all 3 and by far my favourite is the 315Ltd. Disclaimer: it needs lead. I play mine with 6g under the bumper and a bit more at 3/9, for a final unstrung weight of 340g.

Let me reiterate, I put 5g of lead tape at 12 o'clock on the 315 before even hitting with it since it's too light stock but that doesn't change the feel since it still has that plasticy bendy feel in the throat and a harsh, stiff hoop.

I added TW Tungsten tape from 2-4 o'clock and 8-10 o'clock (as well as the 12 o'clock position), and I didn't find the hoop harsh or stiff... what tension did you have it at... not sure if you mentioned this before... I guess it shows we are all different and that one racquet is not the be-all and end-all of racquets... Your experience is your experience, and someone else's is their own. No right or wrong...

I will reserve my judgment on which is better, a PT630 or the Modified Tec 315 Limited (2013) after I have strung both with the same new string, at the same tension, and at the same time... Only way for me to compare...
