T Fight 315?

Big time Head Classic 660 user, ventured in many directions in the last few years. Played 2013 315 limited edition and loved it, surgical precision. Thouht I needed more easy power so ventured over to prince tt100p, Yonex dr98 and extensively tried blade cv 16x19. All are great, all have real strenghts. This said, pulled the limited 315 back from the closet this week and got reacquainted with pinpoint accuracy, directional control. Maybe less pop but pop that matched my swing speed and intention. New paintjob coming out soon but will be giving the dc ltd version a shot using unstrung pro specs I’ve been blessed to get access to. Will report back. Thanks Tecnifibre...you truly seem to get the userX concept.

New paintjob? Saw one with mostly white, doesn't look as good as current or previous one.

Yeah, it's new since it hasn't been released yet. It's got a lot of white but one side is mostly black and red, the other has some red and the inside of the hoop has quite a bit of blue... so mostly white is a bit of an understatement... at least in my view... the good thing is we all have different tastes... won't be fighting over the same racquet.

Has anyone else had the chance to hit with this racquet?

I love it..... and as a result I keep buying them (now have 3 in my bag........ I have added a little lead at 3,9 and 12 and do use an overgrip and dampener. Can't imagine why more people don't use this rqcquet.

Just curious Slick, did you ever try the TF320 DC?

Thx for asking Jay. I haven’t had the chance. The only Tecnifibre frames I got to try enough to comment, outside the limited 315, are the T-Fight ATP Tour prepared 305 and T-Fight DC 305. Would’ve liked to hit the 320. I have a customized 315 ltd on the way at 326g unstrung. Will report back next week after more extensive hit.

Just picked up a pair of 315 ltds (16m) last week, and am in love after my recent mods!

Hoop:
2.5g Total at 3 & 9
2g Total at 12 under the headguard

Handle:
TW Leather
6g Total distributed evenly along the four straight faces of the pallet
OG

Think the racquet is at 9 Pts HL with a beefed up swingweight now.

I have 3 of the 18M's and I too added a little lead to the hoop at 3,9,12 bringing my total weight to 11.9 oz, balance is 7.5HL. Thought about a leather grip but wanted to keep weight under 12.................

Wow.... specs are very friendly. 98 sq inches, stiffness at 64, and available at both open and closed patterns.

I have 3 of them and my advice is to grab them while you can.......They are really great player racquets ..... a tiny bit of weight in the head is all that is needed and the 315 LTD really plays well, extremely comfortable (very "old school").........They are foam filled and play very much like the Angell Custom TC series racquets.

Where do you add the weight? 3 / 9 or 12?

Man what a great deal on the LTD's going on! Haven't hit with the 2017 model but I love my 2013's, if I wasn't saving up for my wedding next year I would buy 2 or 3 right now. If your curious about these rackets scoop them up now while you can!

I added a little lead at all 3 points ( 3,9,12) just enough that with overgrip and dampener the overall weight is 11.9 ...... all 3 of mine are 18 x 20 ..... the HL balance is still 7HL.

I still think 2013 feel more classic in a sense. I like them more than the 2017 ones even though difference is subtle, to be honest. The newer ones feel stiffer to me. True for both 16x19 and 18x20. Probably the Dynacore in the mix. Just my $0.02 offcourse.

Oh and congrats on the impending nuptials :)

Could you request TW replace the original grips with leather for a fee?
Too late for that now...

I have a couple of spare TW leather grips from other racquets I've smashed, so I'll put them on. Tecnifibre leather grips are about $25au so don't really want to buy two of them, would've been nice of tecnifibre to include them stock to keep the theme, and save me money lol

Salvaged Fairway & Balmforth leather grips from old racquets and swap them when needed. Had a few racquets like the Wilson HPS 6.0 95 with a stock leather grip.

Has anybody used both the 315 DC LTD. 18x20 and the Head Youtek IG Prestige Midplus? The specs seem fairly similar so I was just curious whether there’s any major differences between the two. Thanks:)

I have both... to start with the DC 315 LTD has a 1mm thinner beam width, it's core filled and the Youtek IG Prestige MP isn't, and its static weight is much lower. So they would feel different. I have not had a chance to string my DC 315 LTD yet, but I do have a 2013 TFight 315 Limited which I have played with. After modification, my 315 Limited is about the same weight as the IG Prestige MP stock but has had it's SW increased, the sweet spot increased, it's TW increased, the Recoil weight modified, and is absolutely rock solid. To achieve the same thing with my IG Prestige MP, I've had to increase the weight and make similar modifications (as the SW is lower to start off with, and the stability could be improved on off-center hits), which has resulted in it being 12 -14g heavier in static weight (depending on strings used). They both feel very nice to hit with. I am hoping to be able to string my DC 315 LTD up and see how it compares to the 2013 version, however, the fact it's foam filled will give it a different feel. If it's solid like an Angell, then it should be good but different in feel from an IG Prestige MP. Hope this helped some. The best way is to try it yourself because we all feel things and experience things differently.

It definitely does, appreciate the detailed response! I’m going to hit with the DC Ltd today so looking forward to it. Does your Prestige feel significantly heavier than the Limited after your modifications?

It feels heavier, and maybe initially it's ok and manageable, but I think over 3 hours I'd feel the difference in how tired I got and if I played 3 times a week (which is what I am working towards) I think it would be significant. Now, maybe after a period of serious training and improved physical fitness, my body would adjust and I would be fine with both. So, ultimately it depends on what stage of life you're at and how much time you have to devote to tennis. They're both brilliant racquets once modified, but the DC 315 LTD (or the 2013 version, or the XTC 315 LTD) will be lighter overall.

Gotcha, thanks again for the information:). I hit with the LTD. this evening and it was very enjoyable even in stock form.

Good to hear :) Do you also have a Youtek IG Prestige MP? Was that the racquet you used before? If so, what do you feel are the differences?

The other difference between the DC 315 LTD and the IG Prestige MP is that the DC 315 LTD has a Pro Stock code under the grip pallets (PT965D) as it is Tecnifibre's version of a Head PT57A (Pro Tour 630). The regular retail IG Prestige MP doesn't.

I hit with one a long time ago but I’ve never owned the Youtek IG MP. I was searching racquets with similar specs as the DC LTD. and the Prestige came up as an option. The last racquet I used consistently was a Yonex MP1 Tour Mid.

Anyone played with the XTC Ltd's yet? Either of them? How to they play? Supposed to be higher swingweight. Any other differences? Do they still use pallets or foam handle?

Haven't played with them... the RA has gone up too according to TW... I like the paint job, but at this point have enough of the previous two iterations, so won't be getting these (unless the reports coming in are much more positive than with 2013 version ;):)).

Let us know if you try them. I have tried the TFight 305 XTC and it plays very nicely and has a huge sweet spot.

I have been out of action for quite a while. Start of Nov '18 I discovered I had a double groin hernia (left and right side). Had surgery and am now in the recovery and rehab phase. Can't wait to be able to go out and play again...

Hope your rehab continues to go well so you can get back out there hitting again soon. I tried the XTC 315 (non-Ltd) and it was too stiff feeling for me even with a poly/multi hybrid. As to the Ltd, I also have the 2013 version and would be keen to know how this update of the Ltd plays compared to that. And the reason I want to know about the pallets is because I've been getting into extended length racquets recently and find that pallets make the home handyman job of extending length a lot easier to achieve.

Thanks @haqq777, now I look like I had a gentle pat from Freddy Krueger ... but as long as it all heals well and I can get back to playing, I'm all good.
Haha, well prayers your way for a speedy recovery! I know how hard it is staying off court due to injuries. Not a good feeling! Gotta have you back on court trying out all these new awesome space tech racquets with super Martian tech coming out this year like never before! :-D

I'll test the new version soon. Not really plan to switch though as I've piled up the old version. Unless it blows the old one out of water, which I don't think any racquet does

Quick question; Does the new XTC LTD come with head grip pallets? and does someone know if the 2017 version came with head grip pallets?

Tried the 2013/14 version of the 315 LTD 16x19 around 2 years back; replaced the leather with synthetic grips; tried several times in two seasons and gave it up. Have not played with it for more than 18 months.

Since it is a new year, and I lost couple of previous matches (as usual, it is racquet's fault :)), took some old frames for a practice match. First , tried the 1st gen RF97 (red/black); it is on the heavier side, probably close to 340 in swing weight; it was good, but I was not jelling that well with it. So switched to the next in line, a 315 LTD 16x19; it took some time to get adjusted to the frame. But once I dialed in...wow...what a frame! Since my footwork is better now than 2 years before, the racquet plays completely different! I convincingly won the match, with the same hitting partner that I lost to few days back; and hit several winners! Though 16x19, the control is excellent; and it has an excellent feel.

As many mentioned on this forum, this is the closest retail racquet to the Head Pro Stock PT57A, which I believe now.

Fortunately I did not sell these and have 4 in stock. VCore Pro 310 (blue) is also good, but I am more dialed in with the LTD for now. Will try it out in the next few weeks. And it is the holy grail for me now!! Need to experiment with the weights and strings. Currently at 342 grams strung with overgrip, dampener etc.

Just jumped on the tFight LTD DC 18m wagon. Starting off with just a leather grip and then will play with lead in the hoop. With no grip/strings on it came in within a gram of each other.

Any users of this frame have some insight? I'll browse through this thread but it is a bit lengthy.

cheers

That will depend on what your looking for. I would suggest trying to find the specs on rackets you were playing with before and trying to match up to those.

Gotcha. I’ll go through some of the set ups I use and work with that. Not sure if this is string sensitive. Have only hit with it with the nxt it came with. Def want a leather grip.
I’ve been hitting with lately a Redondo 98 with about 10g on the handle as well as a v7 18m blade w a leather grip.

Hey, are you guys still around? I have a question... It's always complicated to try and figure out swingweight without access to a RDC.

If I modify a 16x19 and 18x20 Ltd to have the same weight and balance, in your experience and according to your knowledge, would they have roughly the same swingweight? The 18x20s seem to require a tiny bit less lead, perhaps because of the weight of the strings. The 18x20s also have this additional bumper guard at 10 and 2 and that might put a bit more weight in the head so higher SW? Can't remember the specs given for each, did TW have the same SW for both patterns?

Thanks in advance.

It would depend on how you go about matching the weight and balance. But long story short they should be very close. It also depend a lot on whether you adding weight to the top of the racket on to the handle.

I've been fiddling w a pair of 315 Ltd Dc. They are same weight and balance as my Prestige Mid 360+ but are a bit tiresome to swing after a while...granted I've been drinking weak sauce...

one tied up with ultracable/ghost wire and the other ultracable/firestorm
