In actuality, Cecchinato may still be in limbo with TIU (Tennis Integrity Unit), who move rather slowly and deliberately in some of their match fixing cases. Argentine Nicolas Kicker just got six years of suspension for activity involving matches in 2015, the same year Cecchinato's suspicious phone communications with his friend occurred before a match in Morocco.

The suspension and eventual rescinding of the sentence was by the Italian Tennis Federation and is totally independent of action by TIU.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty. I think we should extend him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. You would expect the same if you were being held accountable for a crime you didn't commit as well.
