And also because berdych sucked.

Maybe for 1/2 slams he was great.
Berdych's run at 2010 Wimbledon and beating 2012 Federer at the US Open (after the summer Roger just had) was miles more impressive than anything Fritz has done. Berdych even bagelled Nadal at AO. Sure, 2015 Nadal sucked. But Fritz lost to 2022 Nadal with an abdominal tear at Wimbledon. I bet Prime Berdych would've beaten that version of Nadal.

Sinner has always been compared naively or more simply incompetently to Berdych, when in reality the current Berdych for characteristics is more identifiable precisely in Fritz.
Both equipped with a very incisive serve and very solid fundamentals from the baseline and with a very aggressive game, but both who also have their weak point in the movement obviously calibrated to the elite level.

The answer to the thread is almost too banal, to date indisputably Berdych, but this does not take away the fact that between the two there are actually several similarities in terms of characteristics and styles of play.
Also both 6’5” with proportionately long torso.

Roger Federer was tired in 2012 post a humongous 12 month to get back to top.

Nadal was at his worst in 2015. When berdych bagelled him. Even 2016 although he lost in r1, he looked better.

Berdych win are based on being fitter than most. But also he played 70 matches a year I think while ******* was putting in 80+ matches

That's the best excuse you got? Federer was fresh off bagelling Djokovic to win the Cincy Masters. Then won his first 3 matches at USO all in straight sets. Then he received a walkover in the fourth round, thereby getting extra rest. Yeah he must've been so tired...

And even if he were tired (which wasn't true) it's still not worse than losing to torn-abs-can't-serve Nadal at Wimbledon.

I have already written a much bigger response. Look at it.

Yes. That is my excuse. Berdych is a nobody who is proper gatekeeper. Just like Fritz.
