All right Team Earth’s Mightiest Warriors. We have a plan. Four Slams, three surfaces. One shot.

Five weeks ago, we lost. All of us. We lost the ranking... We lost titles... We lost a part of ourselves. In 2020, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the slams, get the number one ranking, get them back.

One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going to the slam venues we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win.

Whatever it takes. Good luck.

Whatever it takes?

Not sure how many people know about the Essendon drug scandal but their slogan the year they got busted was "Whatever it takes"

It's in Djokos hands. At his top level no one can stop him. So a 3 slam year is not out of reach IMO. He can do it. He is determined to break many more records.

Now that my great country's finally gonna be out of the EU next year I think I might start to believe that anything is possible in 2020. :D

Brilliant edit. Ready for #8?
Unfortunately, it is not my craft, I took it from a reddit post.
I'm really looking forward to next season's AO and the whole year in general.
I'm particularly curious to see how badly the next gen will be whipped by Nadal.
Also I'm wondering how expeditiously Berrettini will be kicked out of the top 10.

Good luck Djoker fans - I'm sure he has another multi-slam year in him next year. Maybe three, hopefully two (shared with Rafa again). 18 would keep him in the slam race but anything less and he may struggle. 19 would make things very juicy at the top because it would likely mean that it is Rafa, 20, Fed 20, Djoker 19.

It is actually interesting for the slam race that the most consistently dominant player of the decade is the one that has to chase the other two down. It would be awesome for Djoker to win the AO, Rafa RG, Djoker Wimbledon and have them square off at the US Open final (a slam that they are probably most evenly matched at) with Rafa on 20 and Djoker on 18, a Rafa win propels him to the slam record and a Djoker win causes a three-way traffic jam at the top going into 2021.

No player is unbeatable at his top level. Not even Djokovic. Of course you can make excuses and everytime that Djokovic loses say that "he was not at his top level".

Thiem can!
:)

Only Thiem and Wawrinka can do it. Not convinced on Meddy yet, he needs to do it at a slam first. Nadal and Federer haven't been able to conjure up the required level to beat a peak Djoker recently, but that could possibly change soon as I see signs both could flip the script against him.

Nadal defeated Djokovic in Rome 2019 and Federer in the ATP finals 2019.

Everytime Djokovic loses he is not in top form?

Correct, so far.

Let me clarify though that I believe Nadal played at the required level to beat a peak Djokovic at RG. Likely it would have been a similar scoreline as with Thiem but with a tougher last couple sets.

It was there for the taking. Feel almost ashamed... but nah, heard 40-15 one too many times to pity anyone now.
Why would you pity Djokovic? Any season where you win a major and finish the year at #1 is a great success. Believe me, we're all good right now.

Hey, whatever makes you guys to sleep well at night!

I'm not the one who created this thread (or others of this kind) raising the bar of expectations for Nole, nor the one to downgrade them conveniently.

Just pointing out the ironies served up by reality.

Lol, what are you getting so worked up about? Have you seen what's going on in the world right now - it's really not that serious.
