Maybe you can try a thicker gauge?
Maybe.. but I can't get more then 3 hours with 1.33.... I think... I will try another combo, or soft poly. I am trying now Solinco Hyper G Soft 1.20. Easy on my arm, great spin, decent control. Like a lot...

Does soft feel anything like the standard Hyper G?

Restrung my Burn 100 with a full bed of Triax at 52lbs. Surprised at how soft it is. It felt very lively and powerful. Reminded me of X1-biphase, but not quite as soft, and maybe a little more spin and control. Really like it.

How is it compared to Velocity?
-you ever get your answer on this one??
-i tried it today against the wall
-the whole time i was thinking to myself how this feels like velocity
-provably not a 100%, but very close
-after hitting against the wall and hitting a bucket of serves, i looked for string movement,, none so far
-all and all, i think it passes the "smell test", good multi with a bit of control
-more to follow

I have 2 Phantom 100s string at same time one with Triax 16 and other with Velocity Naturel 16

Notes
1. Triax Crisper and Velocity Muted
2. Triax Snaps Back Better (the string don't get stuck out of place atleast early on)
3. Triax Starts Fraying Earlier
4. I didn't break either yet but cut out 1 racket of Triax already since it moved too much at end of life (I used the Triax racket much more often since I liked it)
5. Spin better with Triax although I'm not good enough to see a huge difference.

Main reason I like Triax is string moved less.. the crispness is an advantage but not as important to me.

Just tried triax mains and signum pro outbreak crosses at 45lbs in a Head Extreme and was pleasantly surprised. Really good pocketing, good spin , better than Cream, Velocity and Rip control with the same setup.

-i tend to agree here
-intially i tought it played like h.velocity,, but that was abad match up IMO
-t.triax is more like h.reflex, and the price point is more comparable also
-thats why i tend to agree that h.velocity is more muted than triax; became more notable 2nd time hitting with it
-i havent worn the outer coating much yet, but ill get another round of hitting with it soon
-i also agree, spin is very nice with TRIAX!!
-ill post more when i get to try it again

Have any of you tried both the 16 and 17 guage of Triax? I feel the 17 guage is stiffer and crisper than the 16 guage. Unfortunately TWU is missing data for the 17 guage so I can't confirm my theory.

Did you try the 17g first? And then the 16g? Was the string you used before the 17 a more muted or even an old tension lost string?

Atleast this was the order I did and it did initially feel like that since the previous jump in crispness made it seem like the 17 was crisper.

I only switched to 16g hoping the string lasts longer before it stops snapping back into place.... Time will tell.

-i have not, but i think what you are experiencing/describing is the tension loss, from the 17 and 16g strings
-because of "less material" on the 17g 1.25mm to the 16g 1.30mm the tension loss occurs much faster (on the 17g)
-so you are seeing/feeling the board-y feel much faster
-there is a trade off to better spin, and thats it

I basically tried full beds of them back to back. 16 first, then 17. Right before Triax 16, I was using Cyclone Tour Red 17g, and I probably wouldn't consider that a muted string.

Interesting theory, but I don't think applies to my case. I strung them both at the same tension and in the same racquet and felt the difference within the first two sessions. Tension only dropped less than 2lbs according to stringmeter. To your point, 17g is indeed spinnier.

The reason I asked was because, to my understanding, thinner guage tends to play softer since it is less material and it practically gives a more open stringbed.

The 17g to me sounded more clickier but didn't not feel stiffer than the 16g.. Both string at 54 lbs. Racket is tried was a VERY SOFT frame in the Phantom 100 which may be changing feel as well. But I know FEEL changes from person to person.

I tried Triax 17 in a VCORE 98 (not the brand new one) at 53lbs. I hit mainly with ball machine for 4 sessions, alternating with my other VCore 98 with PTP 125 (black) at 48 lbs..

At first it was a bit muted/stiff, but after a short (~15-20 min on machine) break-in it started to feel pretty interesting. It definitely felt much livelier than the PTP as one would expect. Spin was quite good for a multi, better than I expected honestly, but it doesn't compete with high spin polys (nor was it aimed at that). It does have a crisp-ish feel for a multi. String movement was minimal at the start and only small to moderate before it broke. Fraying appeared relatively early on, and It did break a bit quicker than I would want for the price. Comfort was fine, nothing dramatic in any direction, relatively easy on the arm. To me the feel was still a multi but a lot closer to a round poly than others I have tried.

Overall, I actually enjoyed hitting with it. When A/B comparing to the PTP there is definitely more 'feel' and feedback on your shots that I do miss sometimes when hitting polys.

I do think it warrants more attention, and I will run a set again in the future to get more time with it. It does have hybrid potential IMO, and I think finding a good match that will help with its longevity will be key.

What the consensus on the tension for this string? Higher or lower? I need to string up someone's Clash with it and I'm torn on what to recommend based on my own experience with the string.

For a multi, control is decent so stay around medium for a multi

Played with it today for the first time and liked it; fb 16/1.33 at 57/55 lbs. I’ve been playing with fb Yonex Tour Super 850 Pro at the same tension and felt like the Triax provided more access to spin and the strings didn’t need straightening. I have two matches later this week so I’ll see how it holds up but so far so good. Yonex Ezone Tour 98.

That high eh? I strung it in my Blade 18x20 at 52 and found it extremely stiff and boardy. Okay I'll go by mid tension reference, thanks!

I find Triax to be an amazing string. Nice spin and good feedback.....but expensive.......
If you don't mind spending the money Triax is a better option. Otherwise Velocity.

I've bought 5 packs of the Technifibre RPX in 16G to try. Also has a 15L. Apparently it's basically the same string as Triax... but being cheap doesn't get the marketing or reviews. Also Triax repeatedly goes on sale.

Triax 16 ga played well for me but popped after about a week (10 hours) plan to try 15L. Makes a funny noise but good spin and balance of control and power.

Yep agreed sorry woops was really observing what relevant to me - how stiff (have an injury), and how much free power!

BUt yes Double the spin with Triax, is that you impression too?

I have never tried Multifeel. I find Triax to provide really good spin for a multi. According to the numbers Triax seems to be providing twice as much spin.

I have used 7 set of Triax 16g at 55 lbs on. Phantom 100. $20/set. Wouldn't move the first few hours and then move tremendously.

Now trying Gamma TNT2 React Pro at 55 on the same frame. Softer Feeling, Great Spin and no string movement yet. $12/set.

Feels like a better Velocity MLT... Same feel with less string movement so far. The Velocity MLT moved a lot more and got stuck out of place very early on.

Maybe someone else can try this string

I'm watching really good playability and durability so far. Have it in two of my son's frames (Ynonex Vcore 98s, 17g at 53, full beds) and it is holding up great despite taking a serious beating.
