Tecnifibre 1HBH

Not that brand matters for 1v2 hand backhand, but do any pro players with a 1HBH play Tecnifibre??

Anyone here like a tecnifibre racket for their One-ie??

Yes, but

The shot was more stable/less whippy bc of the TF40's balance. But...it was high effort and hard on the shoulder

I wasn't fit enough and tore my rotator cuff by overswinging with this racquet (not necessarily this particular stroke, but it didn't help)

But, it definitely took my 1H to another level, to the point that I will hit 3-5 in a match now. Didn't have the confidence to do that before.

@bobeeto - In case you didn't see this before, here is the up-to-date list of all the top-ranked one-handed backhand players in the ATP, up to ranking 1000:

The highest rated one-hander using Tecnifibre would be 32-year-old Marius Copil of Romania (currently ranked #338), who I believe still plays with some TFight XTC model.

I'm sure there are also more further down the ranks, but I stopped after finding him as the first example.

Thank you for doing the digging on this! I tried to search, but didn’t pull up much.

17g white razor code!

I changed the base grip to a leather grip and I think it works really well. I have two of the same racquets and they both pretty much play the same with the grip change. Also playing with a grip size 3

I am adding some athletic tape to alter the grip shape. It’s too wide and rectangular for me

I double wrapped the base of the grip and I think I did a pretty good job at making it a pretty nice more circular shape on my 2nd racquet with a tecnifibre leather grip

In love with this setup though! I've read in other threads and people didn't generally like them. But maybe I didn't take into account that they may have been playing with a 2HBH but this setup is pretty nice for my one hander :)

What tension do you string at? I have been having issues with launch angle and such at 53 lbs lately. So I moved down to 51, 50 and a hybrid of 51/49

Yeah just curious because I have yet to meet someone with a 1HBH with an iso

Yeah 1HBH with a dense pattern was never my thing. when I expirimented with an Ezone 98 - I was working on it and it was fine lol, but now I don't seem confident in it unless I 1 hand slice.

Have you hit with the RS 305? When I swing both - they both can cut through the air fast. The ISO is definitely a softer frame as you feel it on impact quite nicely. RS is rather crisp/firm but still foam filled and comfortable (however string set up and tension is key).

Daniil actually strings his sticks at 50lbs which is somewhat low for a high level top 5 ATP player lol. His set up on gear is actually quite similar to rec players in a way. Lower tension. Doesn't seem to use much lead or any - and adds all the weight to the handle it seems.

Yeah I definitely dont have the strength or technique to blow past balls with higher tension so definitely works for my game atleast.
I havent hit with the RS305 but I did hear that it does have a crisper feel but I definitely like where the ISO is at as well. Midway between dampened and having a nice pop.
Will continue this trend of having a solid 1HBH and slice with a decent 2HBH incase. I’ll try to get some clips of both.

yeah, the ISO is a blend of the XTC and RS in my opinion. The whippy feeling it gives you with the R shaped beam but its as flexible as the XTC with a nice feel to it.
I think the throat of the racket is a bit shorter too. Not sure. It's a small tweak. They swing the same honestly.

I am trying to sell my RS 305's to get an ISO. Or I might take advantage of the Tecnifibre sale at TW and have two Tfight ISO's and 2 Pure Strike Tours :)

Yeah I wish I bought it with the sale. I bought my 2nd one a week too early!

Playing with a fresh set of razor code feels so nice!

i definitely like the throat of the ISO too. Definitely closer with the blade/prostaff throats

How do they compare? I just picked up an ISO and feel it lacks power.

I mean I try to weight my Tfight near 315 G Unstrung Add an OG and you'll be around 320. What are you stringing the ISO flex At? I add all my weight to the handle?

I went from 54 LBs and now trying a 51/49, 50, and 51 set up using a multitude of strings to get more spin.

It's strung with black knight mains @ 48 and ghostwire crosses @46. Fairway leather grip + overgrip.

Might be a QC thing as the ISO i demod was strung with ice code at a noticeably higher tension and that had much more free power.

T 40 315 18 x 20 looks like it would be a good frame for a 1HBH? I have never tried technifibre but am starting to reconsider moving back to 18 x 20 frames as I just like them so much better on my BH side.

With the 315 you might to add some weight to the head depending on your preferences. Usually the sw is quite low.
