Tecnifibre Official - Racquets

Notorious miss from Tecnifibre not bringing the 16x19 pattern, the thousands of 16x19 users are left wondering (me included).
Another one is the lack of gate butt door and the molded-in pallet foam...
Go figure...
I was also a bit suspicious about the string pattern since I switched to 16x19 like a year ago but I had no issues what so ever with the launch angle. I use 18 gauge strings. I love the precision the frame offers.

Totally stock not even an OG for a first try. Just a ball machine and some serving for 1.5hrs. Pretty clean connected feeling racquet. Plays comfy albeit not as flexy as my Blade. And Blade does feel muted comparatively. Top spin certainly moves the ball through the court and doesn’t kick up that much. Pretty nice control with S7T 1.25 @48lbs and some really nice directional precision. Serves were also surprisingly powerful and felt pretty good no matter which serve i tried. Just like ground strokes, kickers tended to stay a bit lower but forward more. Nice racquet! Look forward to try it with a leather grip added and a practice match.

I would prefer a slightly thinner beam as well but i think the paint job is good other than it is matte as opposed to gloss.
Yeah I know that personal. My ideal frames are one/ color 2 max think prestige classic 600, prince 93p, old pro tour 630 etc... rf97a blade etc...

Got a hit yesterday with TF40, v7 18x20 and V7 16x19 side by side. Added 2gr lead tape to the TF40 at 3 and 9.

This was magical !

IMO Blades are very good racket and I would give 8/10 for the 16x19 and 10/10 for the 18x20 pattern (yes changed my mind and now I prefer 18x20 v7 ;). But I would give 11/10 for the TF40! The feeling of this frame is soooo perfect ! It's the Perfect combination of crisp and comfortable... Don't know how to explain... Just magical. And the precision and control you get is ridiculous...

If only the string pattern was slightly more open to give more access to spin. But even like that spin is fine and frame still deserve 11/10 ;)

Will now keep these 3 rackets in my bag since this is very easy to play between them... Swingweights of the three are all between 329 and 334. (My TF 40 was a little bit underspecs that's why I added lead tape)

Cheers

How is the T40 305's power level and maneuverability compared to the blades?

TF40 is maybe slightly more powerful but honestly they are very close and then it will be more a question of string and tension. I recommend between 46-50 lbs and thinner gauges like 18g. Currently playing with RS Lyon as cross and kirschbaum max power as main and it plays like dream. Level of control and precision are amazing !

I have not tried the blade 18x20 yet. However I have the new V7 16x19 and i have added a leather grip and a bit of weight @2 and 10. I string it with TB 1.25 @48lbs. The TF40 i have added a leather grip and its strung with S7T @48lbs. The blade does have a bit more free power with current setups. Even stock, the 16x19 blade would have a bit of edge on power. TF40 does play with sublime feel and pronounced directional control and precision. It also has power so I am not having any trouble there.

Hi everyone,

Anybody here who tried both TF40 and Angell custom V3 TC97 18x20 and could compare them in terms of stability/solidity and sweetspot ? And which one between the two you prefer and why ?

Thank you

Interested to find out how people experimented with the TF40 305 to make it more headlight and how did it play afterwards?

I added a leather grip which is something i always do anyway. Brought to 6 HL strung and of course a bit more weight. Played pretty good stock and extra weight always good for me. I also added a bit more weight 7” from butt cap so top of the handle.

Which leather grip and what was the static weight of the racket? My concern is speed and maneuverability as I have a 1hbh. Thanks

First time played with my XTC 305 for 3 hours. It is really nice in stock form. It is comfortable and has great feedback. For instance, my arm cannot bear Pure Strike PO7, Pure Drive or RF97, but can play with 305 with full poly at around 54 without dampener. I know clearly where the racquet contact the ball, which is somehow not very clear with Clash 98. Plow through is great. I found it as stable as Gravity Pro but more manuvearable.

I had a bunch of leather grips laying round, Angell, Oehms and Prince. I used an Angell and it only pushed static weight up 6g. Maneuverability is no problem at all, easy peasy.

I have tried the new Tflash 300 and the XTC305 lately and they are both nice frames (the Tflash is on the stiffer side though..) but I have some issues with the grip. First, it's atleast one size smaller then the other brands. I have size 3 in head, Wilson and Babolat and no issues, but size 3 in Tecnifibre is like a normal size 2. Second, the grip is almost more rectangular than the head TK82 pallets. Would be nice if they did it a tad more square.

Same on my tf 40. Grip is quite small indeed. I have 2 but feels like 1

Hi,

Could anyone here compare the 2015 Blade vs the TF40 ?

I own both and feel like the sweetspot of the TF40 is slightly bigger but 2015 Blade has more free power. In terms of control and stability this is quite the same and feeling is slightly better with TF40

What do you think ? Curious about your opinion.

Thanks

I have both now and will get my first opportunity to hit with the TF40 this weekend.

I just switched to a leather grip on my TF40 305. It gave the frame ten extra grams and moved the balance more towards the handle and my previous wheelhouse. It weighs now 339 g with an overgrip. Thus far I've only tried IceCode 18 on it and I'm not sure if I like it anymore. Somehow I'm spraying the ball too long in an unprecedented fashion, ;), when trying to keep my shots deep enough. Otherwise the launch angle is so low that many shots land in the service courts and stay really low - pretty nasty to the opponent. I just bought three sets of Volkl strings - Cyclone 17, Cyclone Tour 17 and V-Torque 16. Which one would you try first? Or could they be hydrided in a nice way?

I had a really short hit with my weighted up TF40 305. Compared to the Blade v7, it's definitely more traditional feeling. It really has a great feel, I also can't explain it. Not as stable as the Blade 18x20, but I can probably add some weight to the hoop. In the current form, it's pretty whippy for me. It does feel like the launch angle is a little low, but I don't have the same strings as I do in the Blade v7 18x20.

I really enjoyed the frame, just like the Yonex HD. I'm sure I'd probably get better results with the Blade, but I'd enjoy the feeling with this and the HD much more.

The string spacing at the center of the stringbed is more open in the Blade 18/20 than the TF40.

True, but also won't using a non shaped non poly have a lower launch angle too?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Plus Cream is a thicker string, therefore, less spacing between strings, lower launch angle and also less space for strings to bite into the ball and produce more spin.

Yes, I have used hyper g before but I don’t have experience with the other strings you mentioned so I didn’t know what shape those were.

Hello,
I need some info please on tf40 305g. How does it feel polarised or depolarised? My main weapon is fh and i like to control the point with it.

Okay, I'm cutting out IceCode after four hours. I need something more grippy and with less power. Next Volkl Cyclone Tour....
TF40 with Cyclone (regular version) is absolutely a very nice playing combination (y)
I have tried many poly strings in my TF40 305 frames (also Ice Code) but I've definitely made my choice for Cyclone 1.25 mm. black with a tension weight of 23/22 kg.

I tried out my TF40 with revolve spin today and like it. A bit less control then S7T but nicer pocketing so felt pretty good

My TF40 arrived on Monday. I used it to feed balls to a student for a Tuesday morning lesson. Wasn’t impressed at all but I knew the string job wasn’t right. Tension was too low. Restrung it with Diadem Solstice Pro 1.25/Volkl V-pro 1.23 @ 48/46 on an electronic constant pull. finally took it to the wall this evening for a brief hit.

first real impressions? HELL YEAH, baby!!! This thing is solid with great feel. Slices are so good. I’m playing tomorrow morning and will have my 2015 blade 18/20 and modded Ultra Tour with me to compare. I already know the TF40 305 is a winner. Just need to figure out exactly how good it Is! More to follow...
