The 2 TF40's look very/too similar in spec. If I put on a leather grip on the 305, which I do on every racquet, the 2 have almost the same specs. From the video review, I'd totally demo the 305 if it was 16 mains. Oh well...

I have played 10 competitive doubles last few weeks with the TF40 315 (with Ice Code @ 24 kg) and it plays beautiful, to keep it short, I find the product description on TW very accurate. I chose for the TF40 315 because of the lower SW as my intention is to let it extend with 0,25 inch, which brings it up to appr. 333. Lovely frame, very happy with it.

I had a training session yesterday evening and that was a nice moment to test some of my favorite strings in my TF40 305's.
Last week I playtested Tecnifibre Ice Code, but again I experienced upcoming shoulder problems after playing with it, so I had to look which other string should perform well in the TF40 305.
After the very short period with Ice Code I let one TF40 strung with Yonex Poly Tour Pro graphite and that played reasonably well, but it was not providing me the real ''wow'' feeling I was searching for...
Furthermore I experienced a somewhat low launch angle with PTP since it is a symmetrical round poly string, so I had to find a shaped poly which should blend perfectly with the frame of the TF40 and also give a higher launch angle from the stringbed.
I started my training session with Völkl Cyclone 1.25 mm. (black) which I previously used to fully satisfaction in my ex Yonex vcore pro and that impressed so much from the moment I was hitting my first strokes that I clearly got the impression that it should be almost impossible to find a string that combine better with the frame of the TF40.
Despite the fact that I seriously thought that it couldn't be better I switched after a half hour of playing to my other TF40 which was strung with Tecnifibre Black Code 1.25 mm. (lime).
Although it was playing great it was not providing me the very impressive amount of ball bite, spin, control, and ultimate feel and comfort the Cyclone was giving me so I'm convinced that I''ve found ''my string'' that matches perfectly with the TF40 305.

Finally, a racket Tecnifibre TF40 305 that has a superior feel, the only racket in this league is Prince 93P. Thanks Tecnifibre. FYI, I was not a Tecnifibre fan until XTC 305, but XTC changed my view.

It looks like something is about to have a racket with box beam (XTC 305 is more roundish D beam) such a great feel, but Tecnifibre still has to admix something to create a racket with such unbelievable touch that isn't modern plastically, for example, like the new Blade series.

So my XTC 305 as TF40 305, both are strung with Icecode 17, 23kg.

Both rackets are very versatile with great control, spin is not a problem although both are close pattern, XTC 18/19, new TF40 18/20.

Characteristics:

Stability: TF40 is super stable for a 305gr, more stable than XTC.
Comfort: TF40 is more comfortable than XTC and plays really soft, much softer than e.g. Angell TC97 18/20.
Power: just enough.
Control: on very high level.
Plow: I wish some more and I will put some lead, also to increase a bit a SW. I like SW of XTC, but TF40 has lower SW.
Feel: soft, but at the same time rackets plays very crisp which I really like, really nice POP.

I got XTC 304gr unstrung, TF40 came in 306gr, balance of both strung are 33,4 cm, w/o any lead, it seems quality is not bad at all (or I was just lucky).

Three words for the TF40 305: control, feel, stability
One word: sublime.

TF40 305 is better stick than 305 XTC, so XTC goes on sale, TF40 is my new No.1

To be honest, probably no. SW is really low at TF40 315 and I should add quite a bit of lead and the racket would soon reach the 340gr + rank. This weight is not foreign to me, and it is not difficult for me to play with that kind of weight, but when I got into my hands the XTC 305 I really liked the combination of low weight / higher SW. The racket is still very maneuverable and easy to play, with less fatigue at the end of the match. The only stroke where I miss more weight and a higher SW is my OHB, but nothing is perfect in this world and compromises are needed. Not to say it is hard to play OHB, it's just not that weight behind the stroke such as e.g. RF97.

Yup, that's why I jumped on the XTC 305 bandwagon when they went on sale. I've always played with heavier, more headlight players' sticks and am hoping for a little more forgiveness from that setup. Hopefully, my OHB works fine with the racquet. I tend to like setups where I can feel the head coming through the ball, and expect the XTC 305 to feel that way. I'm going to give it a long time to become accustomed. I see your post that the TF40 is an upgrade, but I wasn't ready to spend the extra money on an experiment. Waiting for my new sticks to arrive on Tuesday... Thanks for posting @tribesmen.

The TF40 305 and TF40 315 have almost the same SW (326 Vs 323 respectively)... few points difference... can't be that much weight that needs to be added, but I get what you're saying. Personally, I would probably need to add a bit of weight to the handle to make it slightly more HL (for the TF305), so I'm wondering which would end up being the easier customization.

Hope you love them. I have the TFight 305 XTCs, although mine came to me with a leather grip already on them. I played them with just an overgrip and a rubber band, and they were wonderful. I added some more weight to them just to make them more HL, which for me helps with timing and whipping the racquet through the hitting zone if I'm getting rushed or playing big hitters that hit close to the lines. Personal preferences.

Nice to read your opinion about both the TFight 305 XTC and the TF40 305 (y)
I walked the same path as you with my choice of rackets and my opinion about the characteristics of TF40 305 is pretty similar to yours so my TFight 305 XTC's are for sale now...
So far I have played around 12 hours with the TF40 and I'm still very impressed by the way its playing. I've played with Ice Code also, but my impressions with that string are somewhat mixed and personally I found it a bit harsh feeling in the 18x20 string pattern.
Something I changed with the TF40 305 regarding to the standard specs was lowering the balance point 2 mm. to make it a bit more maneuverable and faster.
Furthermore I agree with you that it might could have a bit more plow, but that's easy to fix with some small pieces of lead tape at the 12 o'clock position, something I will try out this week.

All in all I can say that I'm extremely happy with my choice for the 305 version instead of the 315 version which has three points less SW (which is absolutely noticeable for a player !) and missing some plow and ''court penetration'' in stock form (as mentioned by Troy in the review).

@Tecnifibre Official two questions for ya

1) from a scale of 1-10 how good are your racquets
2) im a baseliner who likes a lot of top spin, which racquet would you recommend for me
Hi Megamind. I would pose your first question to the message board, rather than take my (bias) response. These racquets are like my children, so I fear I wouldn’t give you an accurate answer. For sure though, you’ll find the TFIGHT XTC Series and TF40’s getting some great press lately. For you next question: not knowing what racquet/string you presently use, my obvious and general answer would be a frame with a more open string pattern. Hope this helps your journey! Thank you for reaching out.

Me too. Looks like a sleeper of a frame on paper...

Jason from TW called the TF40 305 the sleeper racquet of the year!!! and would switch to it if it was 16x19...

My hope is that they also expand the range and add different string patterns, RAs (lower preference for me), and weights... you never know. It definitely looks inviting and the comments have been very positive.

I found it funny, @Tecnifibre Official, that the first question would even be asked of you... what are you supposed to say...

Let me try to help @megamind ...

Tecnifibre racquets are BRILLIANT!!!... MAGNIFIQUE, even!

Of course, it depends on what you're looking for in a racquet... I look for racquets that have a lower RA, great comfort, precision, directional control, and the ever-elusive and ethereal "Great Feel". I do not mind "refining" the product myself if it possesses these characteristics but in "not the right quantities".

That is why I have liked the TFight 315 Limited racquets from 2013 (and even the DC 315 LTD - but just a smidge less), the TFight 305 XTC has been good (but was on the upper limit of RA and what I found to be comfortable), I haven't tried the TF40s (but I'm looking to at some point in the future), and I'm hoping that Tecnifibre (at least for some racquets/ models in the range) continues to produce racquets that have a lower RA (below 64), thinner Beam (22mm is the upper limit for me at least), with great directional control, ball pocketing, and precision.

Just my 2 cents... You can do it Tecnifibre!!!

RA is the measure of Flexibility/Stiffness of a racquet. The lower the number the more flexible (softer feeling) the racquet is. These days a low RA (meaning soft and comfortable/ flexible) is 55-60, and a stiff racquet rating will have an RA of more than 70, IMO. However, for me personally, racquets over 65 already feel uncomfortable (although there are always exceptions to every rule).

You could argue that Tecnifibre is only for people that have 20/20 vision. That is why anyone who doesn't fulfill that requirement has to wear glasses in order to use the racquets...:giggle::laughing:;)

I was looking at TWU's recommendations using their racquet recommender tool, and it seems the TF40 is better than my current racquet in all aspects apart from power, which is just -0.1% lower. Seems like a solid choice, plus im uniquely positioned to use the racquet, with my 20/20 vischion

Got my XTC 305's yesterday, tested the swingweight in the living room... unlikely to get to hit them until the weekend, but they are lovely. The fit and finish is great. Hi there. Have you hit with it yet? If readily available, despite it being a 18x20, I would give it a whirl. I’ve had a few experiences where players look down at the frame after hitting with it and ask if I’m sure it’s an 18x20!

This was back in 2002 when i was playing in the challengers circuit. The Major brand under technifibre brand was almost unknown. I was considering fischer or head as my sponsor, along with luxilon strings. But it is so hard to find a stringer in my area. I grew up loving technifibre strings, so i was talking to Jean from Technifibre, i think that was his name back then. He could get me the rackets strung when i needed. He gave me many frames to try. In the end, i chose the x-one. I told him that i enjoyed hitting with NRG, he introduced me the x-one string used by atp players which has a very stiff poly like spine. Anyway, my racket is Grosjean's frame. Cheers! You guys are awesome thanks. I think i am too old school that find it hard to use the newer technifibre frames.

I have no problem with 18x20s, in fact, the majority of my racquets are that string pattern (many of them Tec 315 Limited). I'm in Australia. I'll be giving the racquet a go at some point. The reviews have been very favourable and I'm certain that it will be another wonderful Tecnifibre product.

I am sure TF40 16x19 will be launched later on, but I am staying with 18x20, because spin is no problem and I don't need more comfortable and powerful racket on more open pattern. I prefer control.

Can anyone compare tf40 feel comfort against new blade.
For my part, it would not be fair to describe the feel difference between the new Blade and the TF40, since I put the new Blade out of my hands after 15 minutes. I just don't like that "Clash" feel.

The feel of the TF40 305 is very close to Phantom 93P, but since the TF40 has more pop, I could describe it as mix between Phantom P93 in softness and ProKennex Q+ 5X in pop, but this is pretty individual.

I just love this Twak sound at TF40 and finally I found the racket beside P93 where I really FEEL the ball when hitting drop shots. P93 was great but more demanding than TF40.

I think I understand because I could feel the ball with gravity pro more than blade. Have you ever played with six one 95 18x20 by any chance? Is it close to that?

I personally have not experienced the TFight 305 XTC as a string sensitive racket, something I certainly did with the Yonex Vcore Pro 97 previously...
I have played with several poly strings in the 305 XTC but the only string that was giving me arm and shoulder problems was strange enough Ice Code.
A string setting I really like to advice is the hybrid of Tecnifibre HDX (multifil) with Tecnifibre Black Code 4S (poly). The feel is nice and plush, and besides a high level of control and bite it provides you a lot of comfort.

Some players are complaining about the reasonably high balancepoint and swingweight of the 305 XTC and that it will cause elbow or arm pain.
I agree that it sometimes can feel a bit hefty, but that can be fixed by lowering the balancepoint a couple of mm's.
Using a leather grip, or adding some grams of silicone in the shaft of the frame can be the solution.
