Just finished my first time playing with the XTC 305. Went straight to my weekly Saturday doubles match because I didn't have the time to hit this week. If the TF40 305 is an upgrade from these, it must be quite impressive indeed.
First impressions. Quite solid - never a flutter. Easy to hit all the shots I am used to hitting with my heavier, more headlight racquets - as a matter of fact, easier than my older racquets, because I seem to be able to get away with a more controlled swing and make a quality shot. When I took chances on hitting more aggressive shots, the racquet worked great too. Nice blend of control and power from all parts of the court. One can really feel the head of the racquet coming through a bit more than with headlight sticks, which was something I kept reminding myself to allow. Overall, I'm quite pleased. Of the racquets north of 95 that I've hit with, the XTC 305 is the most controlled and familiar feeling.
Anyone coming from a Six.One 95 looking for something less wieldy to make up for a decline in footwork would do well to look at these. In fact, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't find something like them sooner.
