Balance point and higher (but not so high again) SW cannot be the reason for elbow/arm pain per se. If player is not used such specs, he probably hits too late and out of sweet zone and therefore maybe some pain, especially if you don't start to play gradually, but immediately for several hours, several times a week.

I think I understand because I could feel the ball with gravity pro more than blade. Have you ever played with six one 95 18x20 by any chance? Is it close to that?
Unfortunately not, but I remember my Wilson Pro Staff 6.1 95 16x18 Classic. I was playing with it in '90 for several years* - it played really hard, but it had that twak sound. TF40 has that twak sound, but plays much softer.

*At that time Internet was rare and there were no e-shops, the selection by shops was much smaller (Central EU, SVN) and we had rackets for years !

Just finished my first time playing with the XTC 305. Went straight to my weekly Saturday doubles match because I didn't have the time to hit this week. If the TF40 305 is an upgrade from these, it must be quite impressive indeed.

First impressions. Quite solid - never a flutter. Easy to hit all the shots I am used to hitting with my heavier, more headlight racquets - as a matter of fact, easier than my older racquets, because I seem to be able to get away with a more controlled swing and make a quality shot. When I took chances on hitting more aggressive shots, the racquet worked great too. Nice blend of control and power from all parts of the court. One can really feel the head of the racquet coming through a bit more than with headlight sticks, which was something I kept reminding myself to allow. Overall, I'm quite pleased. Of the racquets north of 95 that I've hit with, the XTC 305 is the most controlled and familiar feeling.

Anyone coming from a Six.One 95 looking for something less wieldy to make up for a decline in footwork would do well to look at these. In fact, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't find something like them sooner.

I knew it that they were basically six one 95 variation on the theme

Will Tecnifibre ever make anything but tweeners again? I kick myself for not having bought the TFight 335 16x20. With the successes of the RF97 Auto and the VCore Tour/Duel/Pro, it seems like there's still a market for serious rackets.

Tfight 305 XTC or T40 305?

Or is the T40 (305) the new version of the Tfight 305 XTC?

No, they are two different lines. The TF40 is the new line they brought out for the 40th Year Anniversary. Different frame design, thickness (slightly narrower), different grommets, different string pattern, etc.

I have a feeling that if the TF40 racquets are a success, there may be a broadening of the range that could include different weight and string pattern options. This is purely my feeling and not information that I know for certain or from sources.

Have you tried their TFight 315 Limited racquets... they are actually Pro Stock racquets that are available to retail customers (at least the 2013 versions and the DC LTDs were). They have a Pro Stock code on the Graphite Pin (PT965A or PT965B), they have Head pallets that can be replaced and increased or decreased (TK82). They are the Tecnifibre version of the Head PT630, except lighter and designed to be customized to your preferred specifications.

I agree with you, I too am always looking for that model (TFight 335 16x20)... it had a lower RA, the right string pattern, it looked awesome (IMO), and had the heft from the get-go.

What's the handle shape on the 305 XTC and T40 305? Do they use a pallet system, or are they moulded? I've had a search of the forums, but it appears both of these things have changed over the years.

Thanks!

The TF40 has a moulded handle shape, this is my TF40 315 before getting extended:

What other polys have you played and what do you like about it? I am considering giving it a try.
This year I played with Hyper G (1.15 and 1.20), Revolution (1.20), PHT (1.20 and 1.25), Hawk (1.25), VS / RPM hybrid. I like the soft but solid feel of Ice Power and the mix of very good control, good spin potential and good power.

How does ice code compare to hyper g

Looking at Medvedev’s racquet, head seems way too small for a 98 sq in.. I once read that the Tecnifibre 98s are true 95s, much like the Head Pro Tour 630 for instance. Is this true for the Tfight and TF?

Ice Code is quite solid without being dead and definitely not crispy as Hyper G 1.15. Hyper G has more spin, but not a whole lot. Ice Code seems to last a lot longer as well. Control is a little bit better with Ice Code for me (mix of flat shots returning balls on the rise with moderate topspin from the baseline), but I can see how Hyper G might give spin-players more control. Power would probably go to Hyper G, but that might be just because of the gauge differences (1.25 x 1.15)

I compared my tfight 315 Ltd 18/20 with my prestige mp and the tfight hoop is definitely a little larger than the head mp.

I just checked mine and the Tec TFight 315 Limited would be bigger by just the tiniest sliver... certainly not enough to make any kind of difference when playing, IMO. Mine was the 2013 TFight 315 Limited version, not sure which one you have.

Is it still a regular Head butt cap shape?

I can only compare to Babolat, the Babolat feels just a little bit more round. When comparing both (L4) butt caps I find the width of bevel 1 and 5 of the Babolat just a tiny bit (< 1 mm) longer. It's a while ago I played with a Head frame but I remember they have a more rectangular shape, I could not gel with Head for that reason.

What string is Medvedev using ? it sounds like thunder when he hits the ball

He used to play with Tecnifibre Razor Code, but the last months I see him playing with a white string which must be Tecnifibre Ice Code I asume.
However, some people from Tecnifibre told me that he is not using Ice code, but a special (white) version of Razor Code

I just join the hype and received my TF40 315 today. Waiting for tecnifibre hdmx floro 1.25 strings to arrive tomorrow to string up. My racquet came in at 320g unstrung.

Played my first match last night with the TF40 305.

Serves - I am having some trouble getting my normal kick serves dialed in but I was able to hit flat serves very well which I normally dont do very well. I am usually concerned about my serve becoming much weaker with new racquets as I adjust to them, but with this I would say its about the same but different. Having a flat serve did seem to help get more free points here and there.

Ground strokes - Very solid and very stable. I felt like I could effortlessly hit my directions with good control. I feel like my shots were a little bit slower then normal, but I was feeling much more consistent. There were a couple of short balls I tried to put away but I think I was over compensating and I probably just need a little bit more practice on shorter balls to get them dialed in. From the base line I felt super consistent, but the racquet is a little bit slower then my normal racquet and I felt a slight delay on the backhand. I am probably slow on the prep. Overall, I think I am hitting much flatter then I normally do.

Volleys - Heavier then my normal racquet and more solid. I think I am mistiming a couple of floaters but I was able to redirect fast balls with ease.

Overall - A great experience. I feel like I am hitting with less power and topspin but the racquet seems to make up for it with its good precision and stability. On balls I was able to time well, I was able to hit with pretty decent pace. I really enjoyed it and I think I will be slowly making the switch to make this racquet my go to.

What strings, gauge, and tension did you use?

If you use a thinner gauge string it will help you create more spin and make your shots less flat (if you are not using thin gauge already). Because it's an 18x20, the string tension can be lower and control will still be there, but the power will increase. Again, not sure what your tension is already.

Hit with the new T40 315 with Ice code at 50lbs and it's a very addictive and comfortable frame. Keen to get this one weighted up to see where things might end up but this is a must try stick.

Yeah, out of the two options (305 or 315), I think I might go for the 315 as well (when I end up getting one), as the SWs are close between the two, but with the more HL balance already there in the 315, it may require fewer mods to get to the desired specs than the 305. Have you tried the 305 as well or just the 315?

Diadem solistice power 17g at 52lbs on the mains and 49 lbs on the crosses. I am not minding that i have less top spin then I normally get. But I may try to string even lower, maybe in the low 40s jsut to try it out.

Regarding to the power and topspin level of the TF40 305 I have experienced that a tension of max. 23/22 kg (50,7/48,5 lbs) gives me the best results so far and my shots with the TF40 305 are even more powerful and court penetrating than they were with my TFight 305 XTC.
Due to the high level of control, feel, and feedback the frame of the TF40 offers it's i.m.o. absolutely not necessary to go higher in tension weight.
For the people who experience more flatter shots with a lower launch angle from the stringbed I can advice to use no round string, but a shaped string like Völkl Cyclone or Tecnifibre Black Code 4S which perform really well in the TF40.
To increase the handling speed in preparation and backswing for groundstrokes it's very useful to lower the balancepoint with 2 mm. which was for me the only personal necessary customizing item to get fully satisfied about the TF40 and its playability.
