Over 20hrs in with TF40 315 no customization other than supergrap
overgrip. Used HyperG 17g and 16L at 50lbs. My regular frame is the TFight 315 ltd DC with 3 grams at 3 and 9. TF40 has more spring and I find it easier to generate spin. It doesn’t feel as solid on contact but feel is still very, very nice. Backhand slice is simply incredible. Serves get better jump and acceleration off the court. Flat forehands penetrate more but do tend to fly on me vs Ltd. this said I do go big off that side. I played in super windy conditions yesterday and with the TF40 I held my ground even with strong wind in my face, managing to produce balls that accelerated. With the Ltd shots had no sting in these conditions. What would make me keep hitting the Ltd? Rock solid feel, great flex, superb for volleying and feeling I could rallye all day and strike with flatter shots and almost not miss. What is making me switch to TF40? Shots having more impact, better serving, awesome control but a boost in spin and power. Now I’m really curious about the TF40 305 which is getting better reviews than the 315. Maneuverability is important to me, wonder to what extent other aspects of the 305 such as potentially enhanced stability would actually make it worth considering.
